It has nothing to do with good fun. You look at former foreign comedian personalities like Bobby Orogon for instance. Making him out like a monkey which eats bananas. If you tried these types of antics on TV in the west you would have a law suit so big your head with swim lol. The point is foreigners are perceived as being uneducated buffoons and this translates in how they are perceived in TV shows. The best known foreign TV celebrity is probably Thane Cameus but his agency screwed him to.

I think it's all in good fun - Learning another language is always difficult, why not make it joyful and fun? Much more motivating and easy to learn when you are in a good mood, you know. I don't see anything wrong with this show.. perhaps I would better fit in japanese culture anyway.

Ah Japanese talent agencies at their best. Teach English by stupid foreign TV personalities. Ah no wonder these guys have no TV careers back home. Not really their fault though as they are told to act this way. How degrading this must be as being on TV is more important then your dignity. These guys don't make jack either as the talent agency take usually 90 percent of the cut. Just look at the foreign comedy TV personalities which end up up getting screwed. You're right! I was taught English by an Englishman who was an assistant language teacher when I was a high school student. Although I was a bad student, he told me that my English pronunciation was far more better than David Beckham's. He looked like Rowan Atkinson in a way.
