To further clarify my opinion, this is an example of how open ended the copyright laws are, as they apply to freedom of expression on the internet.
Apparently, any Joe Schmoe can cencor others with very little to go on. When I say copyright laws should be liberalized, I essentially agree with the Pirate party's platform on this.

Copyright & patent laws should be liberalized on the internet for sure.
Some even argue that pharmasuitical patents should be abolished, on the basis of the logic that patents drive up prices. (Which is true)
Not only do patents and copyrights drive up prices, they restrict, regulate, and control the flow of information. There are some dangerous precedents being made in the legal system on these issues...
Basically, the banning of the John Galt videos represents an arbitrary decision by a company on the basis of maybe a 2 second clip at most.
The goal is to control the flow of information and to use copyright rules as a means to censor the ideas of others. While its not as several as jailing the socialists (as was done during WW One.) It is a concern none the less.
I took the time to google those bastards XCowboy mentioned and found that they aren't only a health care agency, but also a publisher of European print magazines (they belong to the Bertelsman corp) and a band of Dutch solicitors agents.
A travesty indeed.
One thing that would be advisable, though. Remove the copyrighted stuff from your videos. I heard the 20th Century Fox theme in part 5, I think. Using such material is quite dangerous, nowadays.

I am really sorry to hear about this. I didn't download version 1, but I did download 1-9 of version 2 (IMO it really was much better). I've been hoping to see updates from you on my subscription so this is very disapointing. I think someone's idea of posting them on your own website is a good idea, but I know buying the bandwidth can be pricy.
I've heard that some people create a new account when this kind of thing happens... just say'n.
This is very disappointing. I watched the first episode of v2.0 on a very regular basis, at least once a week, ocassionally more.
xCowboy, I personally appreciate all the hardwork that you put into these videos and the awesome job you did with them. I would also be very grateful if you were able to get them back online somehow. If not, maybe I could purchase a DVD format from you.
Wikipedia says that Wolters Kluwer has the following products: Health, corporate services, finance, tax, accounting, law and regulatory publications. Nowhere does it say anything about any kind of video material. I think this is some kind of shenanigans from a third party.
@CJMAC78 Actually, I have everything from v1.0 and 1-4 of v2.0. If I could get a link for everything after #4 v2.0 on, I could upload everything from your series.
I'll look around yt for anyone else who has already done so.
This is unfortunate news for us. The videos were well-done. Try contacting Ayn Rand society for a clarification regarding rights issues brought to your attention from the aforementioned health group.
Wow, this is horrible! Well I hope you find a way to get the comments back, though I doubt it. I would prefer it if you reuploaded (here or somewhere else) the original John Galt series. I have enjoyed occasionally rewatching some of them, even when there's a second series.
I should be able to set up a similar account on vimeo-- and without the time restriction I could do longer vids and maybe even post in higher quality. This might not be a bad thing-- I'm mostly concerned about keeping this little community together and I'm lamenting the loss of the comment history
@XCowboy2 Try to sort it out with YouTube first, if they're able to see the illogic of the complainer (unlikely). Still, worth a try.
Please upload them again and do more, longer. Too bad because we found you on YouTube, but their stupidity in taking it down due to some unsubstantiated claims are repulsive, and we'll go where you post the videos.
Gee, I wonder if they're in Obama's pocket ? Ya think? Perhaps they've been pre-approved as a "certified health insurance provider" for the enslaved citizens of the People's Republic? I smell croney capitalism somewhere. Is that you, Wolter?? Man, you reek!
When youtube sucks try live video, Also here are some of Wolters brands, in case a boycott becomes necessary. * Adis * Clin-eguide® * Facts & Comparisons® * Lippincott Williams & Wilkins * Medi-Span® * Ovid® * ProVation® Medical * Source® * UpToDate®
This was very unfortunate. My friend and I just discovered this series earlier today, and I was looking forward to catching up on them. Hope they get back up somewhere.
Also -- why would ALL of the videos be gone, as opposed to just the one that infringed their copyright? I mean, all the original (unrevised) series videos are up, so clearly nothing in them bothered the guys at Wolter Kluwer Health. Anyways, I've sent off an e-mail to them asking them to leave you alone. Hope they get a ton of them!
I wonder what their problem with you was. Maybe you took something from some corporate promotional video of theirs -- but it's strange that the obscure Health company would file the copyright claim and not any of the owners of the theatrical motion picture music and footage you've been using. What a tragedy...

You can get the original videos restored if you want to go through the trouble of filing a counter notice.
You can find a different provider but you are just as vulnerable from DMCA abuse there.

It doesn't have anything to do with any of the companies that have recorded a version of AS and sold it.
This has been happening to a lot of the channels I subscribe to, even if there was no infringement
