How the hell...? from 80 to 3145..? freakin amazing..! haha that was awesome...how the hell do they know some of these answers...? Viddles...?! Kitty for that one in particular..? Most were easy, but seriously...! hahaha amazingly smart
This was a pretty fun show, however it probably would have been better as an hour long show and I don't think it would have worked out long term in prime time. Although selling the show in syndication in 1990 probably wasn't the best idea because of invailabilty of timeslots.
Mike Reily had to speak fast because of the limited time; which seemd a bit handcuffed. Split Second required its hosts to speak fast because that was the game; Monopoly didn't have to have it. Also, he didn't have to always point out the subtractions after all Trebek doesn't have to always point out the subtractions HUUUUUHHHH?. The rest of this round should go a little faster such as: going the the next property i f no one gets it and play a one clue playoff. The show isn't perfect but good.
this game was awesome, and should have lasted longer...but notice the lack of penalties when wrong answers are given, or time ran up on an answer. The show ran too fast to point out money deductions each time. There should never have been a penalty for a wrong guess in the first place.
@kes1963 Merv sometimes had a good eye for talent in making unknowns known (Chuck Woolery, Pat Sajak, Ryan Seacrest) but even he had a few bombs now and then (Mike Reilly, Rolf Benirschke).
@megamanmaniac I don't know what Mike Reilly is doing now, but Rolf Benirschke was a kicker for the San Diego Chargers who would up literally at death's door when he suffered an intestinal disease that caused his large intestine to be removed. He had to have two colostomy surgeries and later had a Kock pouch put in for waste removal.
I could really see this show working well if it were brought back today, with a few twists maybe.

It was a good show idea crippled by its time length.
