  • How much money are we talking about with these trucks ?

  • @fiebre1991 In the general scheme of things, these particular trucks, modified Clod Busters, can be anywhere from $400-$1000 depending on what parts, pieces, and electronics are used.

  • I;m not saying i could do better because i don't drive them but its funny how sloppy they race lol. I know its hard. Fun to watch

  • were do u get the trucks them selves?

  • Some people build them from the ground up by either getting a Tamiya Clod Buster kit and converting it to an aftermarket chassis. Or they build it from the beginning as an aftermarket truck by purchasing just the Clod Buster gearboxes separately.

Another option though is to look for a previously owned, prebuilt truck, which may or may not have been used, as some people like to build trucks and then sell them. They pop up on ebay from time to time.

  • which one is the txt and where did you get monster truck bodies

  • Ha, I just realized that there actually isn't any footage of the TXTs racing in this video. I drive one of the TXTs, and now, come to think of it, the other TXT didn't race, and only freestyled from what I remember. But the series is open to other electric solid axle trucks like TXTs and Kyosho Twin Forces, in addition to Clods.

  • Concerning the bodies, some of the bodies are available at local or online hobby shops, but some of the older Parma Monster Jam bodies might be hard to find since many of them are discontinued.

As for the paint jobs, a lot of the replica bodies are either custom painted by RC painters that can replicate a paint scheme, or custom wrapped by someone who specializes in vinyl decals. There are several options out there, but its a personal preference as to who does the work...

  • there was an article in rc car action about this and i wanna build one so bad, im pretty into nitro, and im also from il where do you race, and how much does it cost to build one

  • That's cool that you saw the article in RC Car Action. The 2 monster trucks pictures in there are mine. We race in Versailles, IL, about 45 minutes west of Jacksonville. Our Points Series Finals are this Saturday on April 4th. To build a brand new truck from the ground up, it can be anywhere from $600-$800 depending on the chassis and electronics used.

  • do they penalty the drivers for hitting the turning post or missing a ramp?

  • Yup, hitting a turning pole or missing the ramps is a 1 second penalty each. Hitting any part of the timing system though results in an automatic DQ.

  • ouch

  • That Monster patrol flip looked a lot like the one from St. Louis in the mid 90's that Paul Schafer had.

  • wouldnt a modified wheely king do the trick now? just strap on a new ESC and a new motor and there u go and a new body.

  • What esc, motors, And batteries you guys running on these AWSOME TRUCKS.

  • Thanks. Some popular choices currently being used are SMC batteries in either a 7 or 8 cell configuration, Novak Super Duty ESC, and anywhere from an 11T - 17T motors, usually Trinity Speed Gems Pro.

  • Do these motors have a lot of torque?

  • The lower turn motors like the 11T ones have more top end speed than torque, whereas the higher turn 17T motors have more torque, but less overall speed. Feeding either turn motor with 8-cells though makes for some serious power either way.

  • Where the Hell do u find actual monster truck replicas like that. I can't find them!, yet I've seen them at every Monster Jam show 4 yers...? Can anyone help me outwith a website??

  • Most of the trucks are a modified Clod Buster with an aftermarket chassis, such as the Thunder Tech Racing Ripper Pro or Crawford Performance Engineering Terminator. For replica bodies, Brett Crawford might be able to help you out with that. I'll send you some links in a message. For some reason I can't post links in a comment.

  • i was just at the monster jam event at the izod center (medowlnds new jesey)
