I agree on some points, Like the editing! I bought a live vision for my 360. And to my surprise you only got to save 9 logos or something. Even dough i had alot of space on my drive. Wtf is that??? But on the gameplay side I still love it, thougt it was to fast to start with but you`ll get used to it. And it feels more and more like pes6. No slowdowns on the 360!
some players dont have a first touch! when the ball comes to them they sometimes just kick it 5 metres away from them. this is particulary annoyin when you are on the counter attack and your player cant control it!!!!
your right the licencing is crap if they had licening of fifa 08 would be amazing. also the ref is shit! carlos puyol did the dirtyist two footed tackle ever on me and the ref played on, and finnally konami need to sort master league mode it just simply does not work!

I agree 100% i've always been on the playstation format but when i saw how dier PES 2008 was on the PS3 i swithed over to the Xbox Elite, because i just couldnt get over how bad it is, personally i dont think that PES will get better unless the seriously try hard. i havent yet jumped ship to Fifa but i am seriously considering it. Konami itself said this years game was a disaster and an apology is in the works. They said they are working hard on 2009 right now to bring it back to form once again as the King of Soccer...
I have WE 6 through 9 and PES 2007. From what you said and what I have heard from many PES veterans I will NOT be getting this version this year. Yo man good review. I just got an xbox with halo3 and pes 2008. I was originally a fifa fan and then turned to a pretty much full time pro ev player. The dude is right about it on the xbox as i havent had the frame problems.
The gameplay is slightly different but i do see the individuality and AI come through in the players. Main problem i have is how fast the speed is.
my advice get a xbox 360 and get pes 2008 you will hav a much better time i guarantee it. xbox 360 version has much smoother gameplay but pes 2008 online is crap on both ps3 and xbox 360 hopefully konami will put that right sooner rather than later.

100% agree with you. The slowdown is horrible, i dont mind the bad kit editing because i support newcastle! But the image download editing was something i was looking forward to! But its the slowdown that makes this so poor, its the worst improvement since 4. Im going to buy the import japanese version.
