Jesus as the High Priest and Lamb of God offered himself as a living Sacrafice. He did it by laying down his life at the cross and resurrection, Holy and
acceptable unto the Father. We too, must do the same.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Not later, but now. This makes a person a Priest. Christ being the High Priest.
When I tithe I don't tithe to my pastor...I tithe to support the work of God because Jesus is my High Priest, I pay tithes for the work of His kingdom and the growth of His church. I understand what your saying, technically pastors are not priest therefore they don't qualify to receive the tithe, however, if you don't want to pay tithe I would still encourage you to bring offerings to the Lord. For I have found when I give to God he gives back 100 fold what I gave.
Tithing is a religiouse ritual that many denominations still paricapate in. Religion and all its rituales is dead. Our pagan forfathers use to do the same to their gods as many churches today. Altars, idols, ceramonies, empty prayers and so one. Tithing does not bring anyone closer to God, His gift of life is free and not for sale. Give offerings for the unfortunate, but as for the law of tithing handed down unto Moses for the Levites, it is dead.
The master deceiver is the one giving 100 fold. Jesus told us to give our money and our extra coats to the poor, he never actually told us to give our money to him for his work, he don't need our money to help him work. If he was out for money, don't you think he would have been the richest person in the world when he walked on this earth? Well, he wasn't and he hardly had any money, and he could have made all he wanted with his voice.
Funny thing is the only thing in the bible that was tithe according to the scripture ppl like to quote " Mal 3:10" it was all CROPS/LIVESTOCK. So if I tithe by this script then that's what they will get. The bible never said tithes 2fund the ministry it was food. Yah does say don't add to the word or take away from the word if U do it's a sin. But yes give an offering as Paul said one that u feel comfortable with w/o pressure 2Cr 9:7 I just stop doing it & put a stop on my check yesterday!
@SINGUNTO You have good insight on what the tithe actually consist of. Leviticus 27:30-31. tells us what the tithe is and proves it cannot be money. Verse 31 provides clear understanding that a man can redeem his tithe. Redeem means to buy back so if the tithe was money this would be an interest loan. Usury as outlined in the bible is not permitted among israelites and is verified in Deuteronomy 23:19-20. Peace in Yahshua's name!
2Cor2:17 For we are not as the majority, who are peddling the word of God, but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God in Christ, are we speaking.
Tithes were only for ancient Israelites. And one of the purposes of the tithe was to have a BIG party once a year with gluttony and booze! Deuteronomy 14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul LUSTETH after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for WINE, or for STRONG DRINK, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household Party on, brothers!
I read your response and did not see one scripture to support your comment and that's sad. A bunch of "believers" saying what they feel and not what is written.
Man has developed a court system of lawyers and judges that base everything on what is "written."
Don't you know the Judgment of the Most High is greater than man's...so let's not comment on how we feel, but on what is written.
Praise the Lord. Finally, someone who can read and understand God's word. There is one more verse I thought you should have included. Hebrews 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. The only commandment mentioned in this chapter was the commandment to take tithes.
The "Priest" is supposed to recieve the Tithes right? Well...but of course-- you give your Tithes to God/Yhwh, not your Pastor. If you look at it that way, it's the same as looking as the Wine for Communion, as just Wine instead of the actually Blood. There is a reason why the TD Jakes's, Eddie Longs, Creflo Dollar's are the way the are... because they GAVE to GOD. I just had 60 dollars appear from nowhere, my cable is still on and should be, bill getting canceled--because I tithe...love ya

if you don't believe in the Tithe, disregaurd the old testament. might as well. Jesus fulfilled the Law, not destroyed it

Tithe because you love God and his people not because you are commanded to tithe.

You are a Teacher of the tithe and yet when I tell you the tithe is about LOVE you ask for a scripture.
