i have this laptop with w7 already install. someone can say to me how could i do dualboot to install wXP so i could work with some other programs that don't work in 7
@jvandle the asus 1005 has 1024x600 resolution, u need 1024x768 resolution for the windows 7 boot loading animation. So cant really base what your saying on a loading screen.
They are pretty much the same in specs. because the dell is configurable. The battery life on the1005 @ newegg claims to have up to 10hours battery life. I have gotten up to 6hours (w/ wifi, and playing a movie).
First you need win7, then you need a USB to CD drive, inless you mount it another way. Then fllow oncreen instructions and you're all done. If you want to dual boot read the "more info" section.
the 1000 ha, its just like the 1005 but it doesnt have the bumps it has 2 mouse buttons and you can replace the hard drive and the ram unlike just ram in the 1005 ha
well most likely you can replace even the hdd in the 1005, but you'll have to open the laptop. Sure many people won't do that (if it also take down warranty) though it's still possible.
How does 7 feel compared to XP on the Eee? Any particular lags or bottlenecks or long waits? Getting my 1005HA-H soon, and wanted to do a dualboot 7 install on it too... Have you upgraded to 2GB ram btw?
Win7 actually feels a little faster. It does lag a bit when you play HD videos online and sometimes when you open apps but XP does too. Other than that it seems to work better than XP. I have not upgraded to 2GB yet. But it has not bothered me and I'm usually used my 4gb c2d desktops and laptops. If you do plan dual booting check the sidebar for some info because Asus has already partitioned the drive for easy dual boot install. Know though, there are no drivers out(check sidebar for more info).
interesting but poor video. lol

Are there any sites that show how to make a usb drive bootable for OS install? I plan on installing Experience's Tiny 7 Rev 01.

Speed up Boot Time
1. By default, Windows7 waits 30 seconds before it starts to load the operating system.
2. To decrease this time, Right click on My Computer
3. Click on Advance System Settings
5. Under Startup and Recovery, click on the Settings button
6. Decrease the time from 30 seconds to something like 3
7. You can also change the settings for what happens in case of a System failure

Thank you very, very much for a detailed, informative and not least fast answer :)
Planned on "singlebooting" 7 only until I got to know about the missing drivers through your post. I can't give up bluetooth support, so I'll keep XP.
Sometimes, youtube can be quite usefull :D
