Nice! But I thought you would do this with a sword. Hold the bottle (at the bottom) in your hand an swipe with the sword, from bottom to top besides the neck, under the cork in one movement. That's how you open "traditional" a champagne bottle!

I open bottles of Champaign by cutting the top off with a sword. Just hit the champaign bottle under the glass lip near the cork with a hard swipe, and it should fly off.
