not too many rabbits taken but these guys did not really look serious in doing that. theyprobably used it only as an excuse to go outdoors and watch and listen to the baying dogs and get exercised under the sun with their friends. what can be better than that.
i wish i could live in minessota i love hunting, forest, snow cold, rabbits, deer etc and i borned in the wrong place i leave in a tropical country called guatemala were everything is green hot and humid no hunting spots no stores for selling guns, and the only animals i can find are frogs, frogs and more frogs
i hunt rabbit by my self with a .117 and a .22 pellet gun its more fun, . . . . and because i don't have your firearms, and my dogs just take the rabbits and run away
This video is amazing i love rabbit hunting with my beagles and i would love to meet you guys bc you guys are good at hunting rabbits i would love to get another dog most likely a pup so i can train him so get in touch with me at lutman.tristan@yahoo.com
i was told rabbits are color blind and i went hunting without camo and wore regular jeans n sweater (with orange vest n orange tuque) and i still got the same amount i averagely get so is this color blind theory legit? if anyone knows and confirm it much appreciated
where i live in oklahoma is great for rabbit hunting we have alot of long ear jack rabbit too. i kick brushpiles to get the rabbit to come out but last time i went i saw 9 in 66 acres!!
@Captb55806 You could.I use a Mossberg 500 20 guage with Modified choke('cause Gil Ash sez to)for better patterns.Number 6 is what I use for rabbits and squirrel when I use a shotgun. My personal opinion is that a 12 gauge is a heavy trip for a rabbit or squirrel. I thought the Win Model 12 was a fixed choke.Or do you have an adjustable tube on it?
Many of these videos seem to be from the USA. Could anyone tell me what its like to live out in the country. I usually go hunting or living in the land for weeks at a time. But in my country the population is very dense so their isn't much country side to go hunting in.
Also why do you use guns. Its hard to get hold of a gun here but i think its better to use a bow and arrow as it requires more skill.
It is quite hard to shoot a running rabbit with a bow... Secondly, the US has mountain lions and bears and I wouldn't want just a bow for predator hunting. Thirdly, some back country folk actually hunt for food and not sport so time is of the essence.
I be bookin it down a guly when i saw a rabbit. I shot it wit my rossi hammydown 410 it blew in half and pooped. Honestly im scared of rabbits because i beleive there not blessed by god. God Bless and let god guide you in the darkest days.
man this me and my grandpas geetaway thing. i mean ever since i was 7 me him have killed at least 4 rabbits a season.and i live in kentucky, man i love rabbit hunting
My grandpa bought my uncle a beagle when he was younger got them everything pheasants rabbits quial anything but she died doing what she loved she died out on a hunt of a heart attack :(
Hi there I have a Basset Hound and a Lab. how could I start training them for hunting? I know labs are bird's dogs but would like to know how to training them for hunting, Any suggestions?
man thats awfully sparse for rabbits im from pennsylvania and we hunt stuff that u have to crawl through sometimes. most of the time you cant see more than 10 or 15 feet around you. snow really helps in those conditions
ive never done hunting with a beagle, i usually go out shotgun shooting with my German Short-haired pointer, i love watching that breed work. or i will go out with the .22 and sit myself in a good spot and pick rabbits off when they come out of their hole grazing
@PaulkyArcher They could but the dogs can chase the rabbits around to where the hunters can take their shots, after making sure the dogs are out of the way.
@PaulkyArcher Rabbits establish their homes in areas that they know of a food source.. They won't leave their feeding area. The will run from the dogs but they will loop back. The only option they have is to run circles/loops or hole up.
if you love the beagles you havent heard when one finnish hound dog barks for rabbit it is lots faster bark and i love it im not intressed of beadles because in Finland here in winter is too much snow for beagles
i went bowhunting for rabbits, saw one but couldn't get a shot cuz he could see me draw the bow. he got within 10 metres of me. Man he was a big fella!
It's for safety, so you're less likely to get shot by mistake. My dog is just the color of a deer, and jumps like one, too, so I'm going to make him an orange vest just in case.
I shot myself a rabbit and a squirrel today, both with a 12 guage, no damaged meat what-so-ever. Both shots were instant kills, no harm done to the animules.
I've had beagles for years...Beagles are great rabbit dogs. But tend to be a bit cold nosed "old scent". I prefer to hunt rabbit with the Podengo Portuguese medium...

When you hunt Rabbit with a Shotgun do you have to change the chooke?
and what shot do I use? My late father left me his Winchester Model 12 20 Ga.
Its a very light shotgun and its excellent for Rabbit hunting I just need to know about
what chooke I need to use and what shot?

@PaulkyArcher yes, thats the point.they jump them and chase them and chase the rabbit back to the hunter
BIGboy2987 1 year ago
