  • My favourite ever line in this was in the first ever episode when alec says

"these clouds will give less cover then a g-string on a bellydancer" LOL

  • 1:05 shadam?

  • Very well done. Nice editing and syncing to the music. Hope it encourages the old Gerry Anderson crowd to do an update of the show.

  • @6scooter6 LOL..thanks....Boy that would be nice if it did

  • very nice.cant wait for the movie to come 2013...: ]

  • Excellent vid of an excellent TV show.

  • @Lenmil Thanks very much :)

  • I now wish to grab a sword, go into some bushes with said sword & commit suicide, by impaling myself with said sword because that was so fab!!!

  • @borgduck Ouch! sounds painful....lol Thanks :)

  • SST...oh those where the days.

  • Amazing mechanical designs.

  • @darkstarkc99 - Thank You - this montage brought back some great old memories.

  • UFO, Captain Scarlet and Space 1999 were the best followed by ThunderBirds and then Joe 90 who was a closet gay boffin stuck up wanker

  • The music works really well with this montage. I used to watch UFO when it first came out. Loved it as a kid and still like it. Gerry Anderson was very creative. Nice one. Not sure about the dog cartoon though. Dogs aren't my thing. Sorry man.

  • thnx 4 uploading this vid i really enjoyed it

  • Very well done!! Bravo, Gave me goose bups, lol, childhood memories came back. I think your small montage had more action than the hole series put together. watched every episodes, if they had made it at that pace they would of survive longer. Got the entire series.

  • @SnapeMaster please tell me where i can pick the series up. this was one of my favorite shows growing up. i would like to analyze it now that im much older.

  • I so love the model work - what craftsmanship. Much better than CGI

  • nice one darkstar!!!

  • @lonelywolf1966 Thanks so much, Glad you enjoyed it :<)

  • That was some of the best footage of the show.

  • my fave 70s series. prophetic?

  • pretty cool

  • Nice one..

  • @MrVorudo Thanks

  • So glad that A& E and Carleton released the DVDs, the Models, and new books on Gerry Anderson's (my same last name) prescient and incredibly cool and realistic TV series:U F O.

  • that was fabulous - amazing choice of music too!

So, that's my Christmas presents to me sorted!!!!

  • @SirensCry Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it.....LOL and Merry Christmas :<)

  • Rest In Peace to the characters in Mobile #3 that took that starboard side hull penetration near the road wheels and suffered a subsequent internal explosion, or to that pilot that was ESPed by a UFO into a trance that was diving at moonbase only to wake up //just// enough to divert and slam into the surface of the moon at full throttle.

  • Hi also toy wise ( part 2 of my last comment ) a different show but still related, I had a " Captain Scarlett " silver grey metal " Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle " ( SPV ) that had a rocket launcher in the front and rear hinged traction wheels that could lowered for rough terrain ( folded up when not in use ). Again a great clip and show. Regards.

  • thanks :<)

  • How can 4 ppl dislike this? it is fantastic I love it

  • @136miles Yeah!...how could they!....LOL...I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea..LOL...thanks for the comment :<)

  • Been 40 years since I seen that!

  • Before CGI, Britain made many of the best models.

  • BRAVO! Love this montage and...amazing music! :)

  • @terralontana67 Thank you very much....I'm happy you liked it :<)

  • Seem to remember having a toy like the one with the Missile on the front, wonder if i did or not, anyone know if they made those toys, good vid by the way :)

  • @Kneichion Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.... I seem to recall someone else saying the same thing about the diecast toy so my guess would be yes, They did make them :<)

  • @darkstarkc99 the toy was evident,i had it..

  • @Kneichion Made by Corgi I think (possibly Dinky). And the missile fired via a spring

  • @Kneichion yes they did make the toy,i had it,it was heavy dicast,i loved it,but i wanted the saucer(ufo) : (

  • @Kneichion Hi, great clip. Toy wise I had the moon base INTERCEPTOR too ( in Australia ), it was green with a white missile ( I wonder why they didn't make them white like in your clip ? ). I also had a S.H.A.D.O. MOBILE, a Matchbox I think, about the size of a adult male's hand. It was green metal but with a black plastic roof that sprung open to reveal a orange rocket launcher that fired a black rocket; plus there were spare rockets. Regards.

  • @Splitskirts Thanks, WOW You guys had all the great toys, I don't remember seeing them released where I lived. too bad, because I would have bought them all :<)

  • @darkstarkc99 , I just remembered I also had a green " Thunderbird 2 " Dinky toy and a " Space 1999 " metal " Eagle " that had a working crane with a magnet so you could pick up the supplied yellow radioactive waste containers. Also I had a Airfix model " Captain Scarlett - Angel Interceptor " and a " Eagle Transporter ". Great toys and models whoever made these / thought them up. Regards.

  • @Splitskirts Cool!..looks like you had them all! I bet the mock battles were epic!..LOL

  • @Splitskirts - Those sound like the Dinky Toys range. I managed to get my hands on the SHADO Mobile (someone at Dinky completely misread the drawings), and I have seen examples of the Interceptor. I also have a couple of Eagles (from Space:1999) and a Spectrum Saloon (Captain Scarlet). I would probably sell my eye teeth for a good-condition SPV.

  • great stuff

  • @QANTAS330 Thanks glad you enjoyed it :<)

  • Not bad for 1970s technology, eh?!

  • @geostation Sometimes "Old school" Is better!..lol

  • Awesome montage from brilliant show!

  • @LiteracyLabyrinth thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it :<)

  • Great!!!

  • @Martinpsi thanks so much :)

  • @ TheFilthyMcNasty They where from Corgi. I still have both. SPV was from Capitan Scarlet and the Misterons. SPV stood for Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle.

  • Those ships were so badass with the rocket flying out of its nose haha

  • Wonderful. I also had a an Interceptor and S.P.V. I think they were 'Dinky' toys in the 70's. Great memories. I remember having the red vehicle, although the name of it escapes me.

  • @TheFilthyMcNasty Thanks so much :<) The red thing is the lunar module...lol

  • I remember having a toy interceptor and yes it had a plastic missile that fired out of the front. My brother had the shado land vehicle . I'm not sure but I seem to remember that my interceptor came with a plastic ufo

  • @Ivaartheboneless Hope you've still got them....probably worth quite a bit of $ by now.....I never had any of the toys..they just weren't available where I lived.

  • SkyDiver was the best.

The Aliens had no chance of victory, they could enter Earth's atmosphere where ever they wanted, SkyDiver was always near by

Commander Straker never asked for SkyDivers position, because he knew it was always on the scene

  • wow, just turned 44, and i remember watching the show in england before moving as a kid to canada-thanks for the great memories. i'm sure i had a toy interceptor that fired the missile out of the front. what they must be worth now : (

  • @hook1879 Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it. I always wanted the toys. I knew a few kids who had them...I bet they are worth a few bucks today. :)

  • god job!!

  • @taroimotuktuk Thanks so much, Glad you liked it :<)

  • Being in SHADO was a risky proposition. An interceptor was picked off just about every other scramble, and the mobile vehicles ALWAYS took losses. I do not recall a single instance where ANY dismounted & armed mobile trooper survived. The time the mobile guys captured a live alien in a red liquid-breathing spacesuit, the entire detachment was wiped out to wound one alien. The followup rescue party found the vehicle a blown away wreck, and all the dismounted troopers killed.

  • Great job

Clips and audio gel togather perfectly

    Cheers Thanks for posting

  • @yukseleyy Thanks so very much :) I'm so happy you enjoyed it.

  • 4:18 that model is from Captain Scarlet.

  • @ragerancher That's the Moon Mobile .....It's not exactly the same as shown in 'Lunarville 7' and 'Crater 101' from Captain Scarlet...but close

  • @darkstarkc99 I found 2 links that compare the Moon mobiles but can't send them to you which is a bit awkward. They look similar enough though.

  • @ragerancher No Worries mate!...I agree...they are similar. just minor differences, like the front wiindow..etc.

  • outstanding!

  • The reptile aliens from "V" were killed by red dust. The UFO"s were full of red dust and both attacked earth to eat humans.I am trying to write a crossover story but cant seem to pull it together.any ideas would be appreciated

  • Just keep watching this over again ,great job and the music fits great.

  • Thank you :)) I knew this song would fit so well with this editing idea...sometimes it's magic..some times not....LOL, I'm glad you enjoyed it

  • GREAT SHOW !

  • Very cool video! Great Job!

  • Thanks so much :)

  • The movie is coming out in 2011

  • @rickker20 Yeah!...I can't wait.

  • What's the song's name ? Thank you

  • Crystal Planet......It's listed at the end of the video

  • great choice of music and visuals :)) thanks

  • Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed this.

  • Outstanding work.

As a kid I had a SHADO Mobile, but never had an Interceptor. Somehow I still feel as though I've missed out. A great show.

  • Thank you very much, I never had any of the dicast toys, but I did have a friend who had a dicast eagle from S99.

  • Love this:o)

    PeaCe

  • Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it

  • This show delivered on the miniature fx and sets...which is what any 12 year old boy wanted. Not like todays TV SciFi which is all dialogue and very little action.

  • I agree, sign of the times i guess.

  • Wonderful stuff, but the TOHO prototype flick is "Battle in Outer Space" - Lucas as well as Gerry MUST have seen it.

  • Great stuff! There's talk of a remake, but let's hope the American's don't get it and wreck it like everything else they rip off.

  • これは地球人が悪いw

  • why with the alien shoot !

  • Well you never know....and probably never will.I think we'll blow ourselves up before we have to worry about aliens.

  • awsome! plastic models! :)

  • (#^-^#)V

  • 谢谢

  • thanks so much. i haven't seen anything this good in a very long time

  • Thanks, Glad you liked it :))

  • GREAT job.

  • Thanks so much :)

  • great.. they could do a re-run on tv with music like this.. better than most stuff on tv now.

  • Thank you....I'm glad you enjoyed this :)))

  • good video bro

  • thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it...

  • Thanx!

  • sure..no problem

  • What the name of this music ?

  • Crystal Planet-Joe Satriani.....It's listed at the end of the video.

  • THIS IS REALLY COOOLLL MATE!!!!!!!

  • I use to have the UFO lunch pail.

  • you should try to find it....might be worth something...not many of those around anymore.

  • alucinogeno..

  • Ha!....I never considered it to be mind altering....but if you say so.....Thanks

  • You're welcome! More people should view this montage! I've already Twitter'd it!

  • WOW!...thank you so much for that....I need more fans like you....CHEERS MATE!

  • This is great! UFO was fantastic..still is!

  • Yes it is!..thank you very much

    Cyberschizoid ,Hopefully more to come.

  • This is brilliant! UFO was my favourite childhood show; nice to see such an awesome tribute to it. :D

  • Thank you Lostoyannaya....I had a great time making this....and am even considering going back and making another....Thanks so much for your fantastic comment.

  • I forget : 5 stars + fav. naturally !

  • Thanks

  • great great job !!! I loved this series when I was a baby - thx u very very much from Italy. And if you want come to see my video-presentation of music on my channel - hope you like they -

  • Thanks you very much.....Yes I grew up with this as well....nothing like walking down memory lane..LOL..I checked out your channel...Great stuff there...looking forward to more.

  • Great job!!You gave a modern day atmosphere to the series.Favorite touch was the "retired" concordes bEing claimed by Shado.Nice to think the concordes are still being used

  • Thanks..glad you liked it...too bad about the concord..I always loved the way that aircraft looked..along with the 747.

  • loved it!!!

thank you so much for this video!!!

  • Thank you.....I'm glad you enjoyed this,I had a ball making it....your comment makes it all worth while

  • WOW! This is brilliant! The music fits SO well! You've done the series proud with this wonderful tribute!

  • Thank very much Jack, I had so much fun doing this one....It was one of those Idea's that just popped into my head As soon as I heard the song.

  • Gerry Anderson and Irwin Allen rule.I'd like to see a montage of 1999 and UFO.Eagles,Hawks,Lunar Tanks etc battling the UFOs.

  • Ha!..funny you say that....I had the same Idea....I have a small series going called "Space 1999:Darkside"( a re-edit) of the original series, and was thinking about merging the two series for an episode or two...so you might get your wish....Be a while though...so stay tuned.

  • holy crap. model effects supervisor derek meddings was a frickin' genius.

  • Yes!.....he was!

  • Nice!! UFO RULES:D Great Job mate!:):):)

  • Thanks so much....glad you like it....I'm looking forward to the new film

  • A UFO feature film is planned, with big shot producer Robert Evans (Chinatown) behind it, so this might actually get made.

  • I can't wait!!!!!...Maybe It will spark a new series....at the least It will generate Interest for the old one.

  • Sweet!! well done.............

  • Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed this

  • Why oh why don't they make a new series of this? Why didn't they make UFO: 1999, like they were goping to, for that matter. Even a CG cartoon like the superb New Captain Scarlet would be good. Mr Anderson was a fool not to cash in on the UFO/conspiracy craze the X Files generated in the mid-90s. Too late now.

  • It's never to late....I think ther are still enough fans to keep a new series afloat..I'm always amazed by the amount of fans still loving Space 1999 and ufo...I do a new series for space 1999..(well more of a fan remake) but people seem to like it....maybe I'll consider doing one for UFO..or atleast Incorporate the two...Thanks for the comment.

  • Thank you so much for this terrific montage of scenes from UFO. The scope of this show stuns me from the Special/Visual FX arena. They had enormous amounts of models, sets, props going on. No US TV series had anything like it at that time.

  • Sure !....glad you liked it

  • thanks ,yes i love this although space1999 is my all time fave gerry anderson show ufo second , the music fits so well just perfect ( can you do one for space1999).

  • found your space 1999

  • fan -bloody -tastic .

  • Wow!...Thanks so much...This was one of my 1st videos...I always wanted to go back and do something else with the series...I don't see alot of UFO tributes out there....so maybe I will...Thanks again.

  • The Interceptors and hidden base inspired George Lucas to write STAR WARS, a few years after UFO came out (1971-72 in the USA).

  • Actually STAR WARS first draft was written in 1973, a year after UFO finished its syndicated Run in the USA. In New York, it was shown at 19:30 hours on Saturday evenings on CBS, channel 2, from fall of 1971-summer-1972.

  • A very interesting bit of information...thanks for sharing this.

  • I used to watch this in the very Early 1970s when I was in the 6th-grade! Get the DVD megaset. "Interceptors, immediate launch!"

  • Yah!...What you said!....Thanks

  • clearly the inspiration for xcom

  • Heh...heh!!! I played the daylights out of XCOM!!!!!! Mostly because I wanted to trash UFOs and aliens like in the TV show.

  • Fantastic...I watched UFO the first time round, and although it's a bit cheesy, I still watch my DVD boxset every now and then!!!

  • Thank you.."cheesy"..perhaps but "classic"..definitely

  • Outstanding with the editing. The scenes were dramatic with the spirit of the the show. Great music which really get's you pumped. Great choice of show... now about Space 1999...

  • Thank you for your kind remarks fendude..I had alot of fun making this,I just wish I had another idea to make another...As far as space 1999..I have already posted 3 vids on this show..A two part mini movie called "Defending Alpha" and a trailer dedicated to the episode "voyager's return"..check em' out and most Importently...ENJOY.

  • Fantastic, really enjoyed that. It brought back many happy memories of series that I loved but haven't seen for years. Thanks for all the work you put into creating it. 10/10.

  • Thank you anomalocadis This series was a classic, and it was my pleasure making this for you guys,I had as much fun making it as you did watching it.

  • Outstanding edit! You did a great job! Another viewer, michaeldelz, talks about this montage not looking dated. It's true! I'm an Anderson Fan, and have most of his work, beginning with Fireball XL5. I loved UFO as a boy but when I bought and watched the DVD's I was amazed at how dated it was. The preponderance of Boob_Crotch_Ass shots gets really tedious. And they're always drinking and smoking. I don't consider myself a prude, but Anderson's late 1960's sensibilities are so cheesy.

  • Thank you for your outstanding comment,It made my day. Your analysis of early T.V shows is DEAD ON,sometimes i find myself watching an old B&W film where they would hit or degrade the woman,or act like she was stupid..etc..(Were we really like that?)and later in the 60's and 70's it was just like you wrote..smoking drinking..etc...I think space 1999 could stand up better over ufo in the dated dept, but i always enjoy a walk down memory lane. thanks again for your comment

  • It's nice to see the way the future "WAS" every now and then. This montage makes the show look more exciting than it actually was. Gerry Anderson's shows were great for S/FX and moral themes, but on dialogue and emotional content, they reeked to the point on almost being unwatchable. Notice how half of the spoken words in each show are simply the recitation of figures, calculations, or describing visuals we are looking at. Still.....I love 'em all.

  • Same as 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, MAROONED< or any such movie. Part of the dialogue. Lends an air of authenticity to any such project.

  • War moveis from the 1940s and '50s, and Sci-Fi movies from 1950s were same way. Technical-jargon is an integral part of sea, air, and space-travel!

  • I think most of the shows in the 70's were like that.loaded with technical information to make it more interesting and intence...it couldn't have been that bad..the networks kept giving him money to make more shows...Thanks for your honest opinion

  • Excellent job. Great Choice of music

  • Thank-u...It's ALL about the music,Pick the right song and it's great..Pick the wrong one and it's ruined

  • Absolutely great! Brilliant!!

    A real tribute to U.F.O!!!

    "6" stars for that!! (;-)

    Yours Volker

  • thank you,greatly..stay tuned i'm working on one for space 1999

  • when you watch all this without the actors, it doesnt look dated, amazing work by Derek Medddings and Mike Trim, great video

  • thanks,I think the way they made these classics like ufo, space 1999,thunderbirds,etc were genius..they had vision and talent..the work and time they put into these productions put some of the things on t.v today to shame.dated or not this was some of the best entertainment around and i'm sure it will stand the test of time.

  • One of the best edits I've seen here. Good job.

  • To quote the late Lew Grade to Gerry Anderson, after watching the first half hour "Thunderbirds" episode prior to the series being extended to an hour, "This isn't a TV programme, it's a feature Film!"

Great stuff! As a long time fan of the series, all your hard work has paid off. a mini episode in it's self. Pity this couldn't be touted around TV companies as a trailer for a remake...

Thanks for this, made my day!

  • I don't know what to say..your comment has made me blush. I am very happy you enjoyed it. This has been kind of a phenomenon for me,I didn't know so many gerry anderson fans were out there, since you all liked this I think I'll try my hand at space 1999. Thank-u for your comment

  • Thank You!!!

  • Your more than welcome..glad you liked it
