i have the same leak but its not overheating but i do have a rattling sound coming from that area could a broken thermostat make that noise, i did change the alternater and i also checked all the pulleys but i still have the noise and it seems to be coming from that thermastat housing could that make such a noise?
@truknfred1 The rattle noise you are describing is probably a problem with the timing chain, the SOHC has a common issue where the timing chain guides or tensioner wear out and will cause a loud rattle, Google "Explorer timing chain rattle" and you will find all kinds of info about it.
I took my truck to a mechanic to have it checked out and they told me its leaking out of the intake.I talked to my buddy and he said it may be the lower intake gasket? I didn't know antifreeze ran through the intake. The antifreeze is all leaking on top of the engine. Where do you think its leaking out of?
I just change mine and my car still running hot I really need sum help I change fan water pump good I don't know what else to do email me pls Justin_collins02@yahoo.com
Thank you, thank you thank you- so much for this video. I had the exact same problem, leak, in the exact same area. Mine would actually spray when I accelerated. I'm sure you just saved me a couple hundred $.
