  • Just installed a belt on a Roper with the same problem. It seems Roper used the tension "slide" for a short time, then went back to the trusty wheel. Complaints where that the "slide" seemed to eat up the belt after awhile (mine had a nice size groove worn in it, most likely from the friction from the belt running over the same place on the plastic slide all the time).

I ordered the Whirlpool repair kit that came with the tension wheel (fits the same) and tossed the slide.

  • It clips into the base of the machine. The belt is then pushed thru the opening at the top of the idler pulley and then around the motor pulley just like if it had a wheel style.

  • @ApplianceHelpOnline Thank you. I didn't think the same rules would apply for this pulley clip, but it did. I haven't tested it with a full load of laundry yet, but it seems to be working now on a quick test run.
