@rbairos1 - Right now it is totally open-loop. We can only control the input frequency, i.e. the climbing rate. We are thinking of ways to use a simple control loop to steer it.
@dynamiclimbing That would be very exciting. What about keeping the open-loop but apply an asymetric signal so the rotation spends more time in one half of its phase over the other?

Is there any feedback control? i.e does it need to synchronize its rotation to anything? Example: Can it steer?
