this thing seems like its incredibly low maintenance and really reliable! i bet u would do a lot better with just 2 wheel drive, or just run nobbies on the front, i want one! but 2x4 cuz u really dont need 4x4 ever if u have a 600 in that light of a machine
@Josh27m Well man I tried the 2x4 thing when it was still a 400ex, but when I would skim at some of the mud rides, it was so muddy getting around I kept getting stuck! and coming off the line in races was just too slow, nothing but wheel spin.... so theres where the 4x4 idea came from!
@TeamGorilla18 well yeah 2x4 on a 400 wouldnt work that well, i was thinking the 600 would have enough balls to get you through anything but i dont really know much, it might add too much weight, i wanna put a cbr600rr in a crf450 frame, it would stick out the sides a bit but i bet it would be a lot of fun to play around on if it was street legal as well
its cool and all but if i was going to spend the money i would have figured out a shaft drive setup. one of those chains are going to wrap you in the leg one day.
@78MNbronco I did consider that, but converting the chain to shaft, turned out to be a bigger problem than expected (keeping the mud/water out of a custom sealed gearbox, and PRICE) and the power transfer with the chain is slightly better. Chain guard in the works!
@pete312able HAHAHA too funny man, I'm always open to suggestions though! This thing is so different it's taken a long time to work the kinks out in it and get it to where it is now, so any suggestion is always welcome! Thanks!
@mufflerbearin That thing is too much for your pussy ass to handle. And if the chain keeps breaking, that means the engine is too powerful. Its not a fucking polaris chain you dumbass.
@TechOperation its the junk 4wd stuff out of a polaris. id show you how to ride it got to ruff for you you had to let off. you probly dont even have the front and back gear ratios the same
@mufflerbearin It broke chains because the horsepower was deflecting the frame enough to misalign the sprockets, and causing the chain to ride up on the sprocket. I chose to use Polaris bearing carriers because there is no need to reinvent the wheel, they were aluminum (light), eccentric (easy to adjust the chain tension) and VERY cheap off of ebay... I cleaned them up, put new bearings in them (Japanese) and used DID Chain. Is there anything else you'd like to question?
@TeamGorilla18 i was thinking . maybe it rides ruff sometime because the tires there how fast there spining and hittin the watewr those big tread make it hit hard. they say if somethings going fast and hits water its like concrete.maybe thats why it jerks and throws chains sometimes
@mufflerbearin Yea, I'd prolly agree that's why it jerks so hard, but it hasn't thrown a chain since I fixed those problems, out of 10+ hard high speed runs, so I believe that problem is solved!
YEEEEEAAAAAA boyyyy!!!!!! keep it up. fun to watch

@kawibbyrule The water was about 2-3 feet deep, The engine is snorkeled up pretty high, and the tires are so big it floats great!
