I do love this song, but those opening lyrics, "Let's get wasted.....sit here wasting our time" : it just seems more like an advertisement for why artists should take drugs : they got/get wasted, sat around and came up with this hit song (presumably they were practicing music while getting high) and are now famous (or one hit wonders, I don't know their other stuff), but they got to where they are BECAUSE of drugs (I get the sense).
