High quality game on the C=64, I got the original disk upstairs to play on my 8-bit treasurebox. Midnight Resistance should only be played at midnight. Music volume to the max.
holy crap you survived the tree, i played with my brother like forever and always died there :D...on the amiga they used to have more plattforms to jump on...and also i missed the 2player mode on the c64 :(
this is one of my all time favorites i loved this when i was a kid Thanks for a blast from the past PS 8bit tunes on these games were great for their time
i wish i could get this game and like play it on the xbox or sumthin,im into retro gaming, have alot, master system 2,nes...etc,is it possible to get a playable version does anybody know?
Looking for a c64 game with a penguin in it and with very familiar music in it (also can't remember music name). It is of no worthy benefit to me if i know what the game was. but still.
wasn't there a cheat in this game that when you died instread of rewinding the tape you just carried an and it loaded the next level albeit all mashed up but it still loaded.
I love this game! I remember when I got my commodore 64 it came with a box set which had this sly spy and two other games I can't remember off the top of my head. Sly spy rocked it was like a rip off james bond even had jaws type of guy and a massive shark lol
I think it was called Midnight Movies Pack and Nightbreed was part of it as well as Sly Spy, Midnight Resistance and.... i can't remember the other. I just remember that sly spy never worked for me and in midnight resistance, the part with the lift at the big tree always froze on me!!! grrrrrrr... still, quality even just for the music!!!
Yeah, the fact level 2 and level 3 in the disc version has the same track, must mean they made a mistake and never put in the right track for level 2!
Oh and i meant to say "Inept Review" for the other video with the tape version.
Yep, the amateur creativity in the 80ies was really great. One of the reasons that I think the C64 was one of the greatest computers ever. :) I like later consoles too but the experimentell flair from the first years was perfect on the C64.
The music in this game was so fucking cool. I prefer it to most modern videogame music. I don't like the orchestral scores they have now. The old stuff was just more catchy.
@Jareth64 So true, i honestly think all video game music should be made with SID chips, FM synthesizers Genesis/Mega drive) , and a fair number of voice channels, such as the Amiga or SNES
I think the flame throwers range was crap on the c64 because of the limitations of the machine. I think the c64 could only display a max of 8 sprites at any one time. Alot of games got round this by using something called a multi-plexer. Anyway this game is up there with Dizzy and Bubble Bobble!
I could never finish this game without the cheat, Ithink it was "siamese"??? And even with the cheat I couldnt rescue everyone. I always lost a load of keys climbing up a ladder.
I completed this game in Amiga. Good job with this magnificient C64 Midnight Resistance. This game is very good with great music and very good gameplay. I think that Special FX on his day made a good job. But I had got the flame thrower in the level 2. It´s a great weapon.
even if the intro wasnt showed u knew itwas an ocean game game just breathes quality all over, sound is a dead give away too this was the max u could get out of a c64. only had the demo back then its nice to see how it ends guy is imba too throwing f16s our of the air with grenades..
Back when skill was key.

I didn't knew about this game, it looks awesome. Sucks that I didn't played it when I was a kid.
Surely looks above the average of a c64 game quality.

I was just playing this on an a real c64c, and on a original tape and i noticed the Music in level 2 is different to this version.
If you look at Inputs Review of this game on youtube it has the same music as the original im playing.

Not in the c64 version. The range from the flamethrower is to short in this version.
DerSchmu 4 years ago
Yeah, ok. But it´s very strong. The gears can being destroyed very easily with this weapon.

Hello after a lot of searching your probably the one to ask...can you show a shoot em up on the commodore 64 called "Armalyte"? A proper long play?
