This is a great song and I like the Sandpiper arrangement.....but of all the versions of this song (5) I think the Friends of Distinction's is the best.
I first heard it by John Travolta, before learning that one of my all time faves - Cliff - recorded it in 1968. Not keen on this version, but that's just my opinion
Bobby Vee recorded this also but it remains unreleased. I wanted to retrieve this one while I was at Capitol putting together the upcoming "Rarities" set but they didn't have an 8 track deck that was operable at the time!
Thanks for posting, I was not aware that the Sandpipers recorded this. I knew Buzz Clifford wrote and recorded it, but the version I'm most familiar with is by Eddie Jason on MGM and I've only seen promo copies of that.
