This was a very impressive revised version. It kind off explained in details yang Kang's dilemas, which Jin Yong was too lazy to do. I like the way the director changed Yang Kang's role compared to the novel. Thumbs up, well the only down side was making it imposible to make the sequel.

@flatron931 Yang Kang is such a bastard though, it's amazing that his son turned out so different from him despite having bad experiences throughout his life.

@Leafall Correction he is a bastard in the original story not in this modified version. He tried his best to be a good guy but like he so, whether it's Song or Jin they still won't let him live peacefully so he had to fight back. His son was lucky to have great martial artists teach him Kung Fu, it's just Yang Guo prefers letting a woman distract his Kung Fu Progress. Who does Yang Kang have as teachers? the mediocre Qiu Chu Ji or the half ass 9 Yin Manual Mei Chao Feng.

@wavyriver Yup, I was talking more about the original version. I blame it more on Yang Kang's upbringing, rather than his encounters in life. Yang Guo is lucky in this aspect, because he had XLN teaching him. Yang Kang was brought up as a spoilt Jin royalty, he couldn't take hardship or inferiority.

@wavyriver I get what you mean, this version fleshed out certain parts of the story nicely, including that of Wanyan Honglie and Yang Kang. It is a much more warming version. It doesn't just show them as the bastards that they are in the novel.

@Leafall I also feel bad for Ou Yang Ke. His legs were crippled, his dad puts kung fu b4 him and he doesn't get true love, provided that he didn't go around capturing innocent girls for pleasure like the novel and the other versions. As much as i like this version's Yang Kang I think he killed Ou Yang Ke purely out of selfish intentions (he kinda kid that in the original story too but the fact that Ou Yang Ke didn't attept the rape that he did in the original story makes u feel sorry for him).
