Depends which teams we play against for defensive partnerships. For teams with pace it would be Vermaelen and Koscielny whereas for more direct physical teams I would have Vermaelen and Mertesacker.

I think we should get a few of Madid's non playing players like Granero, would be a good addition to the midfield, and Callejon is a good winger we might be able to turn into a striker. Defense wise, more experience, I think maybe if we can get a decent, Champions League experienced defender, (30ish+ yrs old) we can play every other game or so would help
I think that we still need that extra world class centre back, Vermalen is injury prone and Mertesaker hasnt had the best of starts. Saying that Kosceielny has been in some good form. But still Djourou and Squallaci? They should just be released on free! But someone like Gary Cahill or Sakho is needed.
@TheArsenal122 It couldn't hurt but I think another "world class" may be a big too much because you can only play so many, I think Verm, Kos and Mert will be good enough.. Get rid of Squil and Djourou though!
Getting gotze would be a great deal for the future and he is a quality player . Gotze wilshere and ramsey in 3 or 4 years time would be one of the best midfields in the world !

Wenger chose Verma and Koscielny because he thought Odemwingie would be playing so he chose pace. I think its good that we have some choice in our center backs now, we have height when we need it,we have lightning fast speed when we need it. And I think Barcelona has some deal with Fifa to put every player in there squad list in the Ballon D'or, or Fifa just hates Arsenal (Henry never got the first place trophy in his Arsenal days).Im also happy with Ramsey, he is looking a lot like Fabregas now
