I have a 2008 saturn vue and have had nothing but problems with the damn thing, and custumor service has been shitty as hell. I would never have gotten one if I could do it all over again.
I have a 2008 vue Redline and it is great. A few niggles, but feels like luxury and goes like stink. Strong engine and great suspension. Smooth 6spd auto.
No OEM tow hitch for Redline sucks. Not as good on gas as listed either. I get about 18mpg. Not great compared to Rav and CRV, but feels faaaaaar more substantial than both.
If you like to look like a soccer mom, the CRV is for you. Same with the RAV4. I challenge you to try to pull a 21 footer boat off the water with one of your grandmas hondas and toyotas. And by the way, may be build in Mexico, but its quality is way above the clunkers produced in US plants in the past. Like it or not, that's the truth since I owned a 2006 and switched to a 2008. Enormous difference.
@banstaman It was at one time, but no more. The Honda engine was in the previous model, a 3.5L V6 worth 250hp. There was a trade at the time, a honda engine for use in a GM vehicle for a GM truck design for use in the Honda line. Unfortunately GM didn't use the good engine in a vehicle deserving. Honda on the other hand turned out the "truck of the year" Ridgeline with GMs design. Then new engine is 3.6 and good for 257HP.
And both of them really suck compared to the Vue, and the Vue is owned hard core by the new Forester (perhaps not in gadgets, but in all other ways indeed it is).
Saturn makes some of the best cars, the ION was their low.
the Aura ranks in the top 10 mid size sedans, so does the VUE. out of the 4 million units, 3.3 million units are still on the road, now that's called being loyal.
RIP Saturn

If I'm not mistaken the V6 for the Vue was made by Honda.

Saturn really makes awful cars. They totally ripped off the new CRV....However we all know Honda makes the best cars.

The newer RAV-4 eats the CRV for lunch.

looks pretty good. Just one Complaint. Doesn't seem roomy or powerful enough. Maybe stretch the wheelbase a couple inches and give it the Lambda V-6?

Very nice review. I have seen many shots of the exterior but not much about the changes to the inside.
