A neck is designed much better than a Leatt when it comes to twisting, bending and stretching. I've landed on my head - during races - many, many times. lol

a neck brace is simply a piece of plastic fitted between you shoulders and helmet so when pressure sets down on the helmet and neck, the neck wont be crushed becase the helmet is contacting with the brace. or it can also prevent you from bending the neck too far. i hope a brand like 661 would make some for a cheaper price

People are saying about previous crashes that they have had and how they didnt break there neck without a Leatt brace. Every crash is different, you could break your neck from falling off your bike at a standstill. Its how you fall.

BUY AN OMEGA NECKBRACE. it looks a little different just because it puts all the force on a wider area. it fits around the collarbone and doesn't come anywhere close to touching the spinal cord or throat area. i haven't had a crash with it yet but you have almost no restriction. you can move your head as much as you want, at least more than the leatt. they're also fairly reasonably priced (around $300). it's worth it for sure
Thor ones are better, they're more restricting, but way more secure and comfortable. They work better than the hard, uncomfortable, loose alpinestar ones.
people say they feel restricted wearing one but personally i feel you get used to them after a while. to be fair you could say the same about all sorts of other gadgets (knee braces spine protectors etc

The video is clearly a message to tell people that they should buy a brace as precaution , you never know when your going over them handlebars and head first in to the dirt .. a neck brace might not assure safety but it will help... how much is your life worth ?

@brady670S It may be bulkier, and it may lay across your collar bone. But the alpinestars neck piece is thin and it allows the helmet to flex over it, or at least a helmet could if in a wreck. & i think i would want a broken collar bone over a broken neck any day.

had a big crash last month, went over the bars, knocked myself out and broke my collarbone in 4 places, then got run over by 7 other guys, when i kan ride again, i WILL NOT ride without a leatt and a roost guard (i was wearing niether at the time and had people landing on my back...) so yeah do i get an adventure or a club II leatt?
all i can say is that i wish i would've had one of these back in '92 but that was way before their time. i broke my neck and i'm a c6 quadraplegic. i went over the bars and landed on top of my head and compressed my neck. i believe i would be walking today if i was wearing one of these braces.
my nephew now races harescrambles and he doesn't ride without his Leatt brace.
yah i had a hard crash running dezert came off aset of whoopps going 50mph cased a g out hard. when i impacted the ground it was all shoulder and helmet a stinger shot threw my face then it went numb i was down bout 30 minutes from the impact... but im seroiusly looking into a neck brace after that......

@ohioMX314 Haha sorry mate but not a chance. Hitting a 100ft table top 5th gear doesn't really allow you to just roll out of it. He landed head first and did a scorpion (head in the dirt and legs bent over the top crushing his back). He had to give up riding too but he would've had to have given up his life if he didn't have it on.

I just crashed my dirt bike last week, 65+ gap, If I was'nt wearing my neckbrace I would'nt be here.

the alpinestar neck brace is better than this one, it doesnt break your collar bone and its not so bulky

@brady670S It may be bulkier, and it may lay across your collar bone. But the alpinestars neck piece is thin and it allows the helmet to flex over it, or at least a helmet could if in a wreck. & i think i would want a broken collar bone over a broken neck any day.

@abobbishop37 its your choice but the leatt has paralyzed a few people. because the part in the back where its supposed to come off at its not snapping off like its supposed to. its just digging into the spinal cord.

had a big crash last month, went over the bars, knocked myself out and broke my collarbone in 4 places, then got run over by 7 other guys, when i kan ride again, i WILL NOT ride without a leatt and a roost guard (i was wearing niether at the time and had people landing on my back...) so yeah do i get an adventure or a club II leatt?

all i can say is that i wish i would've had one of these back in '92 but that was way before their time. i broke my neck and i'm a c6 quadraplegic. i went over the bars and landed on top of my head and compressed my neck. i believe i would be walking today if i was wearing one of these braces.
my nephew now races harescrambles and he doesn't ride without his Leatt brace.

yah i had a hard crash running dezert came off aset of whoopps going 50mph cased a g out hard. when i impacted the ground it was all shoulder and helmet a stinger shot threw my face then it went numb i was down bout 30 minutes from the impact... but im seroiusly looking into a neck brace after that......

DUDE I DID THE SAME WITH A 250 AND MY NECK HURT LIKE CRAP AND THEN I SOT THE LEATT AND I FELL LIKE THAT AGAIN ON A 125 AND I DIDNT FEEL ANYTHING

@ktmrider53 hahah i agree with you that was just dumb, i had a really bad crash last summer i landed on my head cuz i got thrown off my bike, i did a front flip and came straight down, i was rushed to the er for possible broken back, i was glad to have a leatt or else i would have broken my neck. my story is different tho cuz i race GNCC's and National Enduros, i hit a ditch going 6th gear across a field haha

my brother just broke his back from a motocross crash he landed head first and his back over-flexxed and crushed a couple of vertebrae at the bottom of the back leatt support. if he wasn't wearing he'd be a quadraplegic or dead. any protection is better than none

@zacL144 Some idiots say the neckbraces can cause more damage than not wearing them "Bullshit" lol I do downhill biking and fell head first off a 6 ft drop down a steep hill (landing on my head), if I didn't have my neck brace on, i'd either be dead or at best in a wheel chair... they do work!!!! After that my 5 friends who saw the crash all bought neck-braces, people should invest before it's to late. My brace is a Evo, not the most comfortable, but solid and does the job ;-) Peace

@ohioMX314 Haha sorry mate but not a chance. Hitting a 100ft table top 5th gear doesn't really allow you to just roll out of it. He landed head first and did a scorpion (head in the dirt and legs bent over the top crushing his back). He had to give up riding too but he would've had to have given up his life if he didn't have it on.

I have nose dived over 60ft tables only to land on my head WITHOUT a brace and nothing happens.
my friend went ass over tea kettle going down a hill WITH a neck brace and he just got out of the comma :/

@blasterowner check out the EVS RC-Evolution neck brace. Cheap and will sure feel better than a neck injury. Everyone who's into riding knows its only a matter of time until you get hurt. Its just the nature of the sport.
