The night nursing staff IS uncaring and there are no chairs for family members. The big problem is THERE IS NO HOSPITAL IN BROOKLYN WHICH ADEQUATELY SERVES THE NEEDS OF THE BOROUGH! It is amazing that Brooklyn, with a huge population, cannot support a major hospital. People from all over the world travel to Manhattan for medical care. Others go to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, the Cleveland Clinic or the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Who comes to Brooklyn for medical care?!

As an EMT who brings patients to Mamo every day, I support your Idea, Just tell every Jew in Brooklyn never to call 911, build a wall around BP, Have Hatzola pack up your Hosp by Flying 90mph with a 17 year olds with broken toe nails!!! As an employee who has worked at Maimonides Medical Center for 18 year, I can assure you that this man has no clue of what he is saying. Emergency rooms are full in almost very hospital in NY. This hospital built a second wing to try and fix this problem. As far as taking back your hospital, what does that mean? Should the hospital keep the non-Jewish patients at a minimum? I can assure you that this hospital goes above and beyond to accommodate the needs of the Jewish community.

The Rabbi is suggesting that the hospital serve the people of its neighborhood. Instead what is going on is the board of directors at Maimonides selling itself out at the expense of service.

Then you fail to understand that Miamonodes was founded on Jewish principles. Yes, it was founded for Jewish people because at the time it was founded Jewish people have every right and reason to not trust gentile doctors. But no exclusively for Jewish people. More importantly, to repeat it was founded on Jewish principles. Today the directors of Miamonodes have discarded any principles for profit at the expense of quality health care.
