Is there a way to delete emails on thunderbird, but still keep them in gmail?

Thunderbird downloads your mail to your harddrive so when you delete messages, they are still stored online until you log into your Gmail account and delete them.

Thank you so much! I tried to follow the one google has but I seemed to be missing something. I already have one account set up and it's independent of the Local Folders is there a way to make Gmail the same way? Especially considering I have one business gmail and one fun one?

You can create another account profile in thunderbird and switch accounts whenever you like. Glad to be of help. regards
