She is trying to get better and is now the "poster child" for anorexic models. Showing them what could happen when your agents don't want them to gain weight and look like a normal person. My friend told me about her a couple of weeks ago, before then I knew nothing of her. (I'm younger) and she showed me pictures of her, and this video. I was absolutly struck by her beauty. Tears filled my eyes. She was so beautiful, it hurts watching this, because honestly I almost want her. She's so stunning, and it's so sad watching this video, but I love her.:(
Yep she contracted HIV through sharing needles with her Heroin use, which then turned into aids. Back then a lot of people hadn't heard of HIV/aids, or even understood what it was.. She was believed to be one of the first women to die from the disease. The sadest part was she actually overcome her heroin addiction, then a few months later to find out she is dying.
I hope that wherever she is that God gives her the love that she always needed. It really hurts to know why God would allow someone to suffer like Gia did. But I am sure she is in HIS care right now. RIP.

The most tragic part of Gia's life is that many people loved her, but she never knew. I'm sure all of us would've done anything to help her. gia , rocks thanks thinks it just does it my dad has lung cancer so i relate to gias pain and i relate to her in other ways so much its riveting , as sandy linter says gia rock she just did'nt care what people thaught and thats what moves me about her.besides her outer shit its the inner shit that really counts.

It goes to show that not all the money and success can buy true happiness... Poor Gia had inner demons so badly, and she never did seek money or success, but she "fell into it" as she said in the famous interview, and she never had the love she so deperately wanted in spite of all her success...

It's interesting that a lot of models report feeling that way. They're considered the most beautiful women in the world, and they're paid to be beautiful, but yet many report serious self-esteem problems.
Gia is interesting. Her modeling career really only lasted like, 2 years, a lot less than most models, yet she's still remembered today and remembered as the best.

I get shocked when in the minute 3:29 somebody or she said... "you've been paid to be beautiful, but if you don't feel beautiful that's a really scary feeling" "... may be if somebody have taken care of her, she may been ok. You never know...
Frecuently I've feel that way, and is that emptiness, loneliness... a deep hole in the soul that you are just unable to heal form. And the worst... I know that there is a lot of people feeling the same. It is very sad to see it and know it.

so true, i used to always be told i was beautiful and i never believed it, always felt ugly, strange, it is a really scarey feeling u feel like you'd much rather people think of you the opposite and you had confidence in urself instead, then their opinions would not matter, and if believed YOU were beautiful within, that means soo much more, so much more then what anyone else can tell you, if you don't believe, it doesn't exist, in your world. your world is all u see!

she was born ahead of her time. just imagine how different things would be if she were born in our day and age.kate moss,naomi campbell,heidi klum...etc..would be no competition for gia...compared to them she would be a mega-model
she was definately the world first supermodel. janice dickenson has stolen that title from her and i think janice has based her look and attitude around what gia would be today if she were still alive

The most tragic part of Gia's life is that many people loved her, but she never knew. I'm sure all of us would've done anything to help her. As a child or the 80's, I still remember her Cosmo and Vogue covers...no one else. Even though I never knew her, or anyone else that did...thanks for keeping her alive. She deserves it.
