  • I still prefer this hub to the one in the main release. What was meant to be in the cave?

  • Not just revamped, I've made 3 completed hub exteriors with different themes since this video. I should probably release a video of unused content some time after release.

  • That's the BeanBean Kingdom theme from SuperStar Saga I hear for the Hub world.

  • Hey, I have a hacking question. When I use the obj importer to import a level in my game, it usually works, and I play it, but when I die or get a star it warps me to Bob-omb Battlefield.

    And if I try to play Bob-omb Battlefield, it freezes. Do you know what is wrong...?

  • @BeanManIncorporated Sounds like you need to use tt64 to change all the warps. You have to set a fail, success, and entry warp.

  • @Tirlande Glad you like it :). Hubs do not have enemies. I've decided i will not be using this any way, it does not meet my new standard.

  • @Tirlande Well obviously, not every level i make is going to be part of the hub :P. Take a look at Preview 3.

  • Looks good, but the textures on the buildings are stretched a lot.

  • Ever since a child when I beat Super Mario 64 I had thought of new stages, new areas and maps. It never happened, but it looks like that's changing. Amazing.

    A question though, will there be portraits? Like there was? Maybe in one certain area? I love how it looks. Good luck :D

  • Definantly one of the best imported levels into this game. I can tell you spent alot of time on it.

  • Oh BTW as a thanks for helping me out, I could clean up that title screen music sequence for you. Just send me the midi and I should be able to get rid of the sour notes. I think part of the "empty" soundscape might be the instrument set, but I dunno I'll see what I can do.

  • Hey Celux, sorry it's me again D: I have a question: With your indoor environments , do you have collision issues? Like, sometimes when you walk into the wall you go right through?

    I would ask on Jul but I got banned for making fun of Metal whatshisname. I think it's because I have to set up double layered walls in order to have the textures show up on the inside and the outside. But the problem with this is the collision mishaps. So yeah I was just wondering if you've got the same problems.

  • @RDX12606 I did have some issues, so i had to mess around with my house until they were gone. Double layers do seem to cause a problem.

  • @Skelux What did you do to make the textures show up both on the inside and on the outside? Sorry I promise this is the last question. Was there any specific button or key that you pressed? I know it's a problem with the normals, I'm just not really sure how to fix it.

  • @RDX12606 You should do "solid" modelling all the time, if you use back faces (double layers or whatever you call it) the game collision will freak out.

    The only problems I'm seeing are the music and some textures.

    Other than that, this looks really good.

    Although some streched textures (i guess it's a preview) it is nice.

  • Try creating some custom Textrures for all your polygons that will make it look a little more modern, like say... Super Mario Galaxy (2) ?

  • @RDX12606 Actually I think I'm just flipping out. Ours are similar but they're not exactly the same. The only question I have to ask is: Does the next section of your hub consist of cave-like environments? Cause I don't want to copy that part of your game too x_x

  • @RDX12606 The next part of my hub will be a very mountainy area with small cave sections leading higher up the mountain. It also has small buildings built into the side of the mountain.
