Why don't you use a drill to put holes in the tires. In recent years I've taught a half dozen people to fly RC.

@Eugensdiet I find that drilling rubber or leather makes the hole ugly as heck so I use a punch instead for perfect circle holes.

Just a thought... Wouldn't it make more sense to drill a hole though the inside of the rim and leave the tires as they are. If this was really that important, surly tires would come with holes already in them.

I've been able to influence my brother, two of his friends and my younger cousin into the RC world. Although this isn't much, we're all able to spend hours discussing, playing, and tuning our own RC cars. As I like to say, "quality over quantity".

To be totally honest I can't say for sure how many, or even if any, have been influenced by me to get into RC. I've been in the hobby for over 20 years and have talked to many folks about various aspects of the RC hobbies. I would hope that some would get into the hobby after speaking with me but can't say for sure. As far as the contest I could always use another battery!
