@NikkoFiT Mustang being called a sports car should be taken as a compliment if anything. Most new cars like the mustang and camaro are geared toward the sports car design which in fact would define them as a sports car. However Muscle car fits better.
@willymywonka It has been my daily driver but i try not to drive it unless i have to or its the weekend. It can be tough on the legs and ears after a while. the wallet starts to hurt too with a 20% 110 80% 93 mixture needed to run without detonating.
@willymywonka Mines tuned for that mixture with a almost 12:1 compression ratio. I built the heads around a mild cam to show the big cam guys around here that there is more to a motor then a big cam and huge ports on the heads.
The cam your getting is great just make sure the heads are ported for the cam. I would also recomend a bigger valve set and or a small bore increase with that cam.
@radd2983 Lloyed Elliot is doing the port work for the heads, and i think that cam will go well with my set up. 4.10 gears, yadda yadda
If mine sounds half as good as yours I'll be happy, that's a great lope for a street car. Which injectors did you wind up using and is the stock fuel pump enough for your size cam?
@willymywonka I have trickflo 36lb injectors and a walbro 255lph pump. Lloyed Elliot has some great builds on his site. I based my cam off of one of his builds and then tweaked it. My next build is going to be similar to that one with a 383 bore higher lsa and 2.05 valves. With a 110lsa your car should sound sick! If its auto it will sound even better with a lower RPM then a manual. just stay away from nitrous with that cam. I wish you luck on your build and enjoy your car safely!

I don't plan on running nitrous. my current set up is a cheap 125 wet shot to hold me over until the cam swap, and this cam won't like the nitrous very much.

@willymywonka Get a thinner head gasket to raise compression a little. 1.6RR if you dont have them already. Those cam specs with stock lift or 1.6? i assume its with 1.6. because 616/612 is a little high lift. Nice strong push rods and good lifters so you can get a little higher rpm out of the motor and use that cam to its potential. If you ever replace the opti best bet is to get the GM Performance opti. Save ur motor and pull it and replace the Cam bearings most importantly. While your there replace main and rod bearings. Lightwieght rods wouldnt hurt either. I use HP piston because they dont expand with heat and with the power i make on motor i dont need forged. put down 422 396 on motor a few years ago. Im not much for benchmarking.
