Tatum decimated Campbell so badly that ole Earl thereafeter FEARED any potential contact with The Assassin... this was confirmed by many of Campbell's teammates therafter. CAMPBELL WAS AFRAID OF THE ASSASSIN!!!!!!! Tatum OWNED Campbell easily!!!! Many of Earl's teammates later would confirm that Earl FEARED any further future contact with The Assassin! Campbell would sometimes shiver just knowing he had to face Tatum's team any time thereafter. Just ask Campbell's old teammates about that.
You can tell both of those guys lived to the fullest and had no regrets. The smile on both their faces was one of confidence and total love for football. You just dont find guys like this anymore.

there are still osme of those peope, in fact there is ALOT of those players now but the only ones you see on TV are the divas cause all the good ones stay out of the media which is a good idea
Look at ole Tom with his threads! This is the first side I've seen of him as a PIMP! Straight up , class act. Jerry Jones should name the new stadium after him.
did sunday school with kids and then God used him to show the world what a real coach is.We in my house were much Houston Oiler fans but also were Cowboy fans. Were Texas proud only in Texas you have great teams.Class acts Landry no coach will ever have your respect
I am a cowboys fan, so I obviously agree with you on Tom Landry being the classiest person. But I also think that the Redskins, Giants, and Eagles rivalries with the Cowboys have made the NFL what it is today. And is what made the NFC East the most competitive division in football. So as a Cowboy fan I say thank you to the Eagles and Giants for the memories. And Redskins I guess... *****
Genius is a grossly overused term in sports, but Landry really was one. He introduced or re-introduced so much to the game that is commonplace today. The shotgun offense and flex defense come to mind. People forget, also, before he became the Cowboys' coach that he may have been the best-ever player coach while with the Giants
listen to that terrible 80's music in the background

I miss these guys.
Earl, Tom and George were there when football was football.
The word sport meant more than money to them and players played for the love of the game more than anything.
Yes, they made their share of dollars, but when you hear the old guys talk about football, the words life and football are always together.
God bless the guys who played the game.

He certainly was the next Earl Campbell. One year in the Indoor Pro Football League. Never made the NFL. Definite HOFer.
