hello people.. may i ask why some pitbulls are slim and some are bulky?? does it have something to do wheter it is pure or not.. mine isn't as bulky as others that i see here on youtube

Great nutrition, structure, and exercise creates great athleticism. I have Pembroke Welsh Corgi that is extreme in her jumping abilities and will spin in mid air like a Border Collie. I have pictures of some of the jumps that we could catch on my site on the females page, her name is Sian, and she wasn't 2 yrs old yet. We don' t allow her to jump like this since of back or leg injuries but for a few photos we allowed it to show off her abilities.

I've seen a pit go about 12 feet in the air, they can't just as high as taller breeds ofcourse, but for their size they jump high. If they were bigger, they'd probably jump 15 feet! lol
So many people sling around so many GENERALIZATIONS. Any dog person knows you can't do that. Just love your breeds and stop trying to compare who's the biggest, strongest, meanest, smartest. Take a note from them. They don't care. All breeds are wonderful dogs who love us no matter how big a dickhead we are. Get it?

BY the way jumping height is down to so many variables it isnt funny, genetics, plyometric muscular power, leg length, dog weight, nutrition, rest, physics, the surface and every jump would be set with a very slightly different set of variables,

haha, I have seen & been around many rotts, yes they are great dogs, not my personal favourite but still good dogs. A top cindition rott would never out jump or out run a top cindition pitt tho, maybe your pit, There is a pitt on youtube that jumps 2.3m clean off the floor, a rott would never be able to jump that high, there body weight is simply too high, also they dont have the explosive power that a pitt possesses to be able to do that either. What matters is you just enjoy your dog tho.

you dont know much about rotts if your talking like that, you cant compare the "real" rottweiler to the ones you see in your nieghbors back yard. the only lumps youll see on my rotts is muscle! my 2 yr old pup can out jump out run and out pull my pit and most others that i have had the pleasure of working with.
i agree, the rott standards here in the states are in general pretty weak. they are too big and fat and not as smart, less muscle, improper proportions. idk.....they just dont look like a real rott is supposed to look. a healthy well bred rott is very muscular, not fat at all, they just look thick bc they have a big barrel chest. but if you feel them they are straight muscle. most people dont get to see a good rott tho bc their genetics have deteriorated pretty bad in most places.
a 3-5 year old rottweiler from a strong genetic background that has been fed well and excersized well is truely a sight to behold. just like with pitbulls, their genetics allow them to build up quite a stature if you train them hard and feed them good food. the fat, disproportionate, weak looking rotties that have flooded the US market, a result of puppy mills and pet stores, are a disgrace to the breed.
Weak looking or not, I think it would be very difficult to find a disgraceful rottie. Its the people who continue to run puppy mills, and people who buy animals from pet stores are the ones who are a disgrace.

Fair enough your dog can jump high, and probly likes jumping. in most cases its not good to teach or encourage the breeds of large or heavier dogs to jump especially breeds with a history of hip displacement. Im sure no one would like to see there dog lose the use of their back legs over time and have to be "put to sleep"
well i have owned and bred rotts for about 20 yrs all of my rotts have lived to be in their teens with just slight arthitis but never hip displasyia, these dogs are bred for extream athletisism. so for most rotts i would have to agree with you but it doesnt really apply to mine.
Its good to hear that they are all healthy and happy. i know what you mean by it not applying to all dogs, a friend of mine had her rotti jump out the car window traveling down the freeway,and only suffered afew scratches, they can show great resilience.

Not that it really matters but pound for pound and all round a Pit is basically the strongest, fittest dog you can get. And a Pit would have more explosive power, jumping 2.3m with hardly any run up at all is here on youtube, I would say there are 1 or 2 dogs out there with more outright strength but there are pits on here also pulling over 9,000lbs in weight.

I was talking about in PROPORTION to body size, I know that's a big word for you but I don't know how else to put it. 6 ft is only about 3x a husky's height, and like I said in my first comment, which you clearly didn't read and then proceeded to make a jackass of yourself, a terrier is capable of jumping about 6x his own height. As for proportion, the flea is the best jumper in the animal kingdom, capable of jumping 200x it's own body length, even though that is only a 7 inch distance.
They appear to jump about the same, not a great deal of difference. Rottweilers have stronger bites,but Pit Bulls tend to hang on longer. A Pit Bull is smaller,and more versatile, A Rottweiler is stronger,and despite it's size,and build,is fairly versatile as well. I believe it is immature,to debate over which would win in a dog fight,or whatever. People who buy them for that,shouldn't have them. Man is suppose to show responsibilty with creation,it was a gift.
Proportionally terriers are some of the highest jumpers in the dog world, a Jack Russel can jump almost 6x their own height, whereas it looks like the heavier rottweiler my just be clearing about half that height, or about 3x his own height. It depends how you want the competition, actual height jumped, or which dog jumps the highest in proportion to his own height, to even things out. They're both really nice dogs btw.

A rot may dominate the first 10 minutes of a fight but as soon as the Adrenaline is gone and the 100lb rott is tried the pitbull really begins to fight. That is why they don't fight rotties. Pitbulls are the number one fighting dog. A rottie is for guarding .

Pit won. Jumped higher and looked better doing it. Do not give me that the rot is heavier. It was a jump contest not weight contest. How can a pit be harder to train? What make them so great is that they are so eager to please their master? That statement does not make sense. Besides any dog can be trained, you just have to believe that you are ALPHA. If you have doubts that you can take control or control your emotions when training them, you will have a hard time.
I own a pit and it can run up a tree over 15 feet ,hang there on a leather leash and dont even need three feet of running space on the ground. brindle and white 63 lbs.

I've seen a pit go about 12 feet in the air, they can't just as high as taller breeds ofcourse, but for their size they jump high. If they were bigger, they'd probably jump 15 feet! lol

Great video, lovely photos, people please stop comparing which one is harder stronger etc, they are both beautiful breeds of dogs, and both much mis aligned because of problems with some owners, perpetuate the so called 'dangerous' perceptions.
BY the way jumping height is down to so many variables it isnt funny, genetics, plyometric muscular power, leg length, dog weight, nutrition, rest, physics, the surface and every jump would be set with a very slightly different set of variables,

haha, I have seen & been around many rotts, yes they are great dogs, not my personal favourite but still good dogs. A top cindition rott would never out jump or out run a top cindition pitt tho, maybe your pit, There is a pitt on youtube that jumps 2.3m clean off the floor, a rott would never be able to jump that high, there body weight is simply too high, also they dont have the explosive power that a pitt possesses to be able to do that either. What matters is you just enjoy your dog tho.

Did I say a pit is more powerful outright!> NO! having said that, i seen a pit pull 9000lbs, I never seen a rott pull that tho!!! a pit is the ultimate dog, a rott may in very few respects be a tiny bit more stonger, but it loses on fitness MASSIVELY! agility, SPEED massivley, you cant really compare a lumpy old rott with a ripped game pit.

you dont know much about rotts if your talking like that, you cant compare the "real" rottweiler to the ones you see in your nieghbors back yard. the only lumps youll see on my rotts is muscle! my 2 yr old pup can out jump out run and out pull my pit and most others that i have had the pleasure of working with.

i agree, the rott standards here in the states are in general pretty weak. they are too big and fat and not as smart, less muscle, improper proportions. idk.....they just dont look like a real rott is supposed to look. a healthy well bred rott is very muscular, not fat at all, they just look thick bc they have a big barrel chest. but if you feel them they are straight muscle. most people dont get to see a good rott tho bc their genetics have deteriorated pretty bad in most places.

a 3-5 year old rottweiler from a strong genetic background that has been fed well and excersized well is truely a sight to behold. just like with pitbulls, their genetics allow them to build up quite a stature if you train them hard and feed them good food. the fat, disproportionate, weak looking rotties that have flooded the US market, a result of puppy mills and pet stores, are a disgrace to the breed.

Fair enough your dog can jump high, and probly likes jumping. in most cases its not good to teach or encourage the breeds of large or heavier dogs to jump especially breeds with a history of hip displacement. Im sure no one would like to see there dog lose the use of their back legs over time and have to be "put to sleep"

well i have owned and bred rotts for about 20 yrs all of my rotts have lived to be in their teens with just slight arthitis but never hip displasyia, these dogs are bred for extream athletisism. so for most rotts i would have to agree with you but it doesnt really apply to mine.

Its good to hear that they are all healthy and happy. i know what you mean by it not applying to all dogs, a friend of mine had her rotti jump out the car window traveling down the freeway,and only suffered afew scratches, they can show great resilience.

Not that it really matters but pound for pound and all round a Pit is basically the strongest, fittest dog you can get. And a Pit would have more explosive power, jumping 2.3m with hardly any run up at all is here on youtube, I would say there are 1 or 2 dogs out there with more outright strength but there are pits on here also pulling over 9,000lbs in weight.

I was talking about in PROPORTION to body size, I know that's a big word for you but I don't know how else to put it. 6 ft is only about 3x a husky's height, and like I said in my first comment, which you clearly didn't read and then proceeded to make a jackass of yourself, a terrier is capable of jumping about 6x his own height. As for proportion, the flea is the best jumper in the animal kingdom, capable of jumping 200x it's own body length, even though that is only a 7 inch distance.

They appear to jump about the same, not a great deal of difference. Rottweilers have stronger bites,but Pit Bulls tend to hang on longer. A Pit Bull is smaller,and more versatile, A Rottweiler is stronger,and despite it's size,and build,is fairly versatile as well. I believe it is immature,to debate over which would win in a dog fight,or whatever. People who buy them for that,shouldn't have them. Man is suppose to show responsibilty with creation,it was a gift.

Proportionally terriers are some of the highest jumpers in the dog world, a Jack Russel can jump almost 6x their own height, whereas it looks like the heavier rottweiler my just be clearing about half that height, or about 3x his own height. It depends how you want the competition, actual height jumped, or which dog jumps the highest in proportion to his own height, to even things out. They're both really nice dogs btw.

If you research before you speak, Rottweilers can earn a title known as AD that says that they can run 12 miles and be TIMED without showing any tiredness. WOW. I definitely do not condone any fighting. I have enough problems with home owners and BSL. You do not push weights in Boxing nor MMA. Exactly.. If a conditioned pitbull fought a rottie, a rot may have a stronger bite but a pitbull will hold on shake a rottie bites then lets go and then bites and lets go. A rot may dominate the first 10 minutes of a fight but as soon as the Adrenaline is gone and the 100lb rott is tried the pitbull really begins to fight. That is why they don't fight rotties. Pitbulls are the number one fighting dog. A rottie is for guarding .

Pit won. Jumped higher and looked better doing it. Do not give me that the rot is heavier. It was a jump contest not weight contest. How can a pit be harder to train? What make them so great is that they are so eager to please their master? That statement does not make sense. Besides any dog can be trained, you just have to believe that you are ALPHA. If you have doubts that you can take control or control your emotions when training them, you will have a hard time.

jus because a Rott is easier to train does not mean that it is a smarter dog. pitbulls are more stubborn yes that the terrier part of them that does not make them less smart. jack russell terriers are known to be one of the smartest dogs but also so stubborn that that they are difficult to train. and what is an ambull? u mean american bulldog? if so I would have u know that razorsedge bloodline has to bo american bulldog in it. just APBT and AMstaff and doing selective breeding for size.
