  • Does anyone know what year this was?

  • You're watching a video of june carter singing...how does that somehow lead you into a vitriolic argument about war in afghanistan? This happens on almost every comment board I've read, no matter what the video is about people wind up arguing with each other about war, politics, whatever they're mad about. It's a faceless, fruitless fight. You're not going to win. Throwing words and anger into the void of the internet is all that's accomplished. Let's just enjoy June's lovely singing.

  • i love her to pieces when i stood at her grave sight next to johnny tears of sorrow fell, we have lost a complete generation of country music with their passing RIP johnny and june.

  • TO MY FRIEND AND Christian Brother

    Martin(Marty) Robin Roberts,

SURE YOU SAW THIS but, today is anniversary day -

86 years of Grand Ole Opry radio!

  • She's amazing

  • The u.s. was never 90% white.

  • @umbc91 Actually it was.

  • I see why Johnny was so taken.

  • @tiger135775 lol I love you ahahaha jk but I couldn't agree more :)

  • OK>>>>>>>.......... how on earth do some of you go from music to politics like that. I am a punk rock anarchist with a mohawk and tattoos... and if Johnny and June, were sitting with me,they would tell you to shut up and enjoy the music!!!!!!!

  • Back in the good old days, 1959?, when America was great, now its Obummer.

  • @hendersonjerry Yeah, because Obama put the country into a war longer than any other in US history. OH WAIT, NO HE DIDN'T. Don't be pulling that nostalgic Jim Crow Tea Party business on such awesome stuff, man.

  • Mr. Jon Plane - You’re right, he didn't start the war and he didn't end the war like he said he would. And I am disappointed.

  • @MrJonplane the US was better when it was 90% white. if you don't believe that, you're retarded beyond repair.

  • @DankWin Better when it was 100% native

  • @LiLW0LF ah yes, you're right. it was better when the population of a million or so was living in dirt huts and eating bugs. much better.

  • @DankWin Actually it was, no pollution. Poisoned land, people starving. Also we used more than dirt in building houses, also ate allot more than bugs, which are high in protein...also most of the world still do to this day.

  • @DankWin Trolls know no history!

  • @DankWin Yes and when it was 100% native american before any white person set foot on the continent it was a lot greener ,less polluted and zero animal extinctions ,but anyway enjoy the song.

  • @MrJonplane put the country into a war longer than any other in US history? Are you kidding me? Bush Jr. started the Iraq war in March 2003, over 8 years ago. Obama became president in January 2009, that's nearly 3 years since Bush Jr. left office and 9 years since the war started, which means that Bush Jr. was president 6 years since he started the war in Iraq. Get your facts straight.

  • @musicaltheatergeek79 Have you ever heard of the war going on in Afghanistan? Also, I'm pretty sure that six is a larger number than three is. Stupid motherfucker.

  • @MrJonplane You're not getting the math. Bush started the Iraq war in March 2003 and left office in January 2009, so he presided over the war for nearly 6 years. Obama has been in office not even 3 years and yet he managed to end the war. By year's end all troops and trainers will be coming home, thus bringing the mission to an end. And, yes, we've been in Afghanistan 10 years 'cause Bush put us there. You people need to get with reality.

  • @musicaltheatergeek79 I don't see what point you're trying to make here.

  • The beautiful June Carter x

  • She's adorable.

  • 844,444 views! I got interrupted while starting this post because the playlist that brought me here was moving on, and when I got back to it a minute later, it's grown to 844,517!! I have never seen a video's stats change so fast on YouTube!

    Thanks for uploading.

  • @shadowfax1920 Amen!

  • i dont really like country music that much but june carter and johnny cash are two of my favorite singers

  • you know whats wrong with you`re face. Its sticking out of you`re suit

  • is in england??

  • Man she was funny!!! God bless from Virginia!

  • look at you face you know whats wrong with it

    what?

its stickin out of your suit

  • How dare you say she had a horrible voice. I think it was beautiful , natural and I love it. She and Jonny Cash sounded like magic together .

  • june had a horrible voice!!!!

  • Her daughter Carlene looks a lot like her.

  • She was so beautiful . She sang from the heart and I really think that was a beautiful song .

  • She is cute

  • @shadowfax1920 I couldn't possibly agree more. She definitely had class and was an inspiration to many. I cried when I heard she had died and then Johnny went only four months later.

  • they have all inspired me in my younger years same as my frend onie wheller

  • there is nothing sweeter than johny and june-wow what alove story!and so talented!

  • I see alot of comments about country music being "dead" now compared to how it used to be. It's an innacurate and irrelevant statement to make, because music evolves over time and there's nothing you can do about that. There's always an audience for the next generation, and your audience will have already lived it's prime and be in the past. Appreciate the music for what it was when it was your generation, but don't knock the next generation just because YOU can't relate to it.

  • EPIC!

  • dollys a good woman two

  • You guys are right. She was the best. And she could write (ring of fire....jackson). She did me a favor once. Today, the only comedy we have left in country music is toby keith and in all fairness, its not on purpose. He can't help himself. When her and Johnny left, that just about sealed the fate on country music.

  • @clif1982

What was the favor she did you? Please share it with us.

  • It never goin' to be this good again. Love the old Nashville sound.

  • good bless the grand ole opry, and the ever young june carter!!!

  • no wonder johhny fell in love with june such a pretty girl great singer to wot a voice she has

  • The modern music world has lost all of its tallent. I grew up with Jimmie Rodgers and have listened up to present, I've came to the conclusion that Country Music is dead.

  • when was this ?

  • Rip June and Marty.

  • June was the first female comic and one of the best at warming up the guest on the show. This song was in referance to Carl leaving her for Goldie Hill after only beng married for just about a year. You can see the hurt on her face.

  • Methinks she has been knocking back the moonshine before attempting this comedy fiasco. Singing is great though.

  • What a lovely, talented woman! I just love the romance she had with johnny Cash, and that they made music until the end. Truly inspirational!

  • outstanding......

  • Look at those beautiful eyes. They're like magnets. Amazing.

  • Gabeandlaiaburke: You don't have notion what is a beautiful woman, nor talent or voice. There is no other female artist like JUNE CARTER, and probably will never be. This world was fortunate that God send her to us. I am hurt by your comments. I think you should excuse yourself to the family Carter/Cash and the world. I think that you have a lot of pain in you and try to transfer that by trying to lower greatness like Ms Carter to your level, a hateful one.

  • I am crying just to listen to her beautiful voice.

    Thank you June Carter.

  • june carter is such an inspiration

  • @KayRoo11 4 months :( I doubt he could live much longer than that without her....

  • This is not Grand Ol Opry, this is an out take from one of 90 half hour shows filmed by Al Gannaway in Nashville the 1950's The program was called The Country Show and was later released as a Video collection called Memories Grand Old Opry Stars of the 50's. I was Gannaway's Chief Editor on the project and have DVD copies available

  • gotta see more

  • i luv june

  • Haha. She's such a crack head! She's hilarious! I love her:)

  • hahah awh. what a lovely girl. johnny was a lucky man.

  • She's a doll and a half.

  • @JoeThePhilosopher Amen to that! Where has counntry good gone?

  • She was a great performer.

  • this bet ever

  • CUT THE LOUSY JOKES AND START THE BEAUTIFUL SINGING

  • From the days when Country Artists had respect for themselves and tons of class.

  • What a beautiful person. Her voice sounds like raindrops from heaven.

  • What a sweetie pie!!!

  • A Star in my heaven

  • Great voice, great looks, so congenial and with a good comic talent too!

  • Unmatched.

  • Man she hits the notes with no effort! A true honey!

  • I agree with everyone...I can also see why Johnny Cash was crazy about her, shes stunning! In more ways than one!

  • wow.. what a beautiful, lovely woman.. it would be nice to see more people like june carter in this world

  • Gorgeous and funny. Wonderful.

  • She was just an absolute doll.

  • sang completely effortless...everyone now in days wants to make sure everyone knows how hard it is to hit some of those notes and she just...does it

  • @ThePrincessLaia excuse you this is my great great great aunt obviously you dont know gorgeous and talented when you see it!

  • @ThePrincessLaia, you're a moonbat and have no sense of humor and probably weren't beaten enough as a child.

  • @ThePrincessLaia anyone who uses the name "princess" for their tag name is one to be considered needing some mental tlc...

  • @roflmanlol08 Princess Laia was Luke Skywalkers Sister... Obviously you lack the intelligence to see this...anyone with the name rofl or lol in their name might need some tlc in general.

  • @ThePrincessLaia You sound like a jack ass! If you don't think June has talent than don't watch her or listen to her, plain and simple, case closed!

  • @ThePrincessLaia I really hope you get cancer...

  • Comment removed

  • @sjb1997 She wrote a good song I will give her that, but ou have to admit she didn't look all that good

  • @ThePrincessLaia Your so right! I've seen cows that look better then her...

  • @gabeandlaiaburke You are a complete idiot. This generation is all plastic and over-done makeup and let your ass or tits hang out. Women like June Carter Cash had natural beauty and charisma not to mention dignity. Half the women these days are hos!!

  • @ThePrincessLaia I think you and CooterBandit been hitting the same crackpipe!

  • she was a little hottie!

  • Wonderful vintage footage. I understand why she knocked Johnny's socks off. Love the song.

  • @CooterBandit agreed

  • Comment removed

  • i love her

  • RIP Mrs. June Carter Cash! God Bless All!!!

  • her eyes were haunting, she was just beautiful

  • Johnny Cash sure loved her. I think Johnny and June were soulmates!

  • She was actually kinda pretty here. A rarity for that homewrecker.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Im sure your wife is better than her? nope dont think sooo you worthless piece of shit!

  • @derdelyi Now don't go and get your feelings hurt, homer. Your momma doesn't call me names. Well if you don't count sweetie, suga britches, darling and honey pie then she doesn't. And yes that picture you found in her pocket book of her naked with another man is me. Sorry about that. I mean I don't even like her but she has a pretty mouth and she does that little thing with her hips. That's why I let her call me when you are out of her basement over at ur boyfriend's house. Good times then.

  • June could melt a stone... June was so sweet and funny...I can totally understand why Johnny Cash fell in love with her... :) First it was his biggest idol as a young age, and then her sence of humor..

  • This is awesome.

I find that June looks a little like a country Anne Lennox. She is so beautiful here.

  • I enjoyed the song now i have to take the Browns to the super-bowl!!

  • How many comedians did you have back then? none. It took guts, I guess, to do comedy as a woman back then

  • That June Carter was a lovely woman. RIP

  • Rest in peace dear June.. we still love and remember you.

  • you see the background, cornstalks on the edges of a shack .... this is when music was real and when troublemakers got the hand of God from Dad. God bless you younger kind, what a deleopement we have bcome!!!

  • Isn't this a million miles from above, with Junes' greatest heartache in life, Johnny. A rage from near the grave, youtube search, June is in the background, watch?v=o22eIJDtKho

  • Pretty as a peach, she was. Beautiful country voice. Just right.

  • She was beautiful.

  • "With a diving board right in the middle"

    ROFL!

    Great music. :)

  • Shes was beautiful and talented.

    but anyway stupid,but of course

    she is legend.

  • she is so pretty all girls back in those days were pretty i wish i was born back in those days

  • Yeah, ALL the girls back in those days were pretty -- I love comment boards -- you can any old stupid thing that comes to mind.

  • then ud be the only ugly one lmao

  • June Carter was so beautiful. Country artist today are all sounding the same and show little talent. Their voices are being enhanced by technology, but back then everything was real. there was nothing fake about it.

  • Such a talent cannot be found anymore, country music is not the same as it was 40-50 years ago

  • @No1Roknroll oh yes it can but the problem is that 90% of the youths of today are brainwashed from rnb/hiphop and rap-metal like linkin park and limp bizkit

  • @No1Roknroll So true!

  • whippee de doo mam

  • Would any "modern" country female artist approve of such an irreverent introduction ?

Why heavens no! You couldnt have jokes about a cuties facial hygeine. Not today. The "artists' agent wouldnt allow such a thing.

It might diminish their public image. Gals like Patsy Cline, June, Loretta, and a few more were the real deal. Marty Robbins could not only play multiple instuments in various styles, he also wrote many hits and sang them with a golden voice. Thats an artist.

  • He also knew what he was doing when he sang. He was the only artist who just clowning around on the piano sang a full cut on the song "Don't worry about me" with no retakes or dubbing and let's do that again. He didn't know Chester was recording it.. That's a professional. RIP- Marty

  • She's too cute for words.

  • June is glorious in this. So beautiful, and such a unique voice. I think that's Dale Potter playing the great fiddle. Dale later married Anita, June's younger sister with the voice of an angel.

  • It's easy to see why Cash was nuts about her, and pursued her for so long, she is a sweetheart.

  • She's ADORABLE

  • are u kidding? She's so orinignal and natual at the same time; this is what we call real entertainment.

  • @harapanku12 With June, it wasn't about the voice. She came from a family legendary for their vocal talents, so she carved out her own niche with jokes and an effervescent personality. That's why she rarely performed ballads, as she says here. I personally find her effortlessly charming, and loved this clip.

  • She was charming. It is too bad there aren't many people anymore who are classy, smart, warm, and funny.

  • agreed! great comment. A classy person is unfortunately a dying breed.

  • Now I can see why Johnny Cash was so taken with her.

  • @medicinecrow65 SO WAS I WHEN I WAS A BOY

  • Hahhahaha these are some good jokes n pokes. Good people.

  • June is a special treat and reveled in the part of the country bumpkin. Hooray for her!

  • Comment removed

  • why are some people so stupid and send comment like lover lover 711do.

  • ROFL! The original 'Dixie Chick', huh? Pure hillbilly...'Love it! June was a great singer, and Mr., Cash chose wisely for sure! Great to see this, it's so funny.

  • Yes she has past, but back in the day she was a hillbilly/Redneck just like me

  • ....how old is she there ?

  • stop calling her a hillbilly she's past away RIP June

  • She would take it as a compliment ;) .. she came from the countryside and thats what made her beautiful character ...

  • defently a hillbilly, but a cute hilbilly to tell u the truth

  • She's my third cousin. She's my Grandpa's cousin.

  • She is wonderfull !!!

  • god she is mesmerizing! i am in love! not in a lesbo way! just she is wonderful!

  • Unashamedly hllbilly.Wonderful.

  • An Angel!!

  • WOW, She's really beautiful!! Thanks for the post!

  • It's easy to see why Johnny Cash fell in love with her.

  • ooh, that was great country singing. just like i like it!!!

  • What an amazing lady! She and Johnny were such an incredible pair, and together they surpassed any successes they would have enjoyed had they not been together.
