A tip I'd like to offer.....free advice, so take it for what it's worth, right? (probably nothing)

I find that that shape you use for the first position G chord is "upside down" for me.

I use my ring finger on the bottom E, middle finger on the A and pinkie on the top E. For me, it flows more easily into other chords, especially C major, and F major which is are common changes.

May be more hassle than it's worth for you to change after what's obviously been a lot of practice, but I like it.
