  • i remember when i first got the always open mouth my initial reaction was "wtf is this", but this shit grows on you so hard, this style compared to their older style has so much more replay value and depth

  • This band is quite good, tho its kinda sad that I've had Alesana's 3 album "The Emptiness" for almost a year and it was only last night that I read 'Fear Before The March Of Flames' in the credits...

  • these guys are so sic. i own and love all their records. its a shame that they are on hiatus. check out adam's side project orbs.

  • PLEASE RE-FORM OR SOME SHIT AND RELEASE A NEW ALBUM OR PLAY ANOTHER SHOW. YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING AMAZING!!!

  • this album is so great, at first i didnt like it but years later im finding it to be their best and most experimental. this band is so underrated

  • @whothehelliskyle2 Have you checked out The Always Open Mouth? It's easily their most experimental in my opinion. It's a perfect marriage of post-hardcore and electronics, without overdoing it.

  • I can't stop listening to this song! I love it!

    But this video?

    Oh! It is awful.

  • @junebaggins How? It's a performance video, what are you expecting? I like it personally.

  • @DrDazzleFTW Honestly, I did expect a lot more than this video. They have more imagination than this. But this song makes up for it!

  • FBTMOF have always changed distinctly from album to album, but thats what has made them so amazing. they have progressed onward as a band, and never made two similar albums in their current standing 4 [and an EP if you count LLT]. just such an incredible band overall.

  • I finally got to hear this new album from FBTMOF and goddamn! it exceeded my expectations. I can't stop replaying the whole album. MY favorite are Treeman, Tycho, Everything is Not Shitty were fucking epic.

  • @marcomora455 dude i have the same problem! its becoming my favorite album of all time i listen to the full album at least 5 times a week

  • Great lyrics and energy!!! They changed but not for worse :) I'd take this any day over that horse face Ke$ha!!!!

  • This band is so original, when they screamed they didn't rely on breakdowns, and they're lyrics are so much more original than every other band out there. Props to this band.

  • @mayorbumblebee thank you.

  • I love how they evolved exactly like my musical tastes did. from thrashy metal stuff to experimental.

  • @jarshale man that is exactly how i see it, i got into them with art damage when i was a wee lad of 13, now i am 19 and have this album cover tatted on my ankle. i loved their noisy sound back then, now they have this layered sound and these pack a punch lyrics. beautiful combination. this band knows what they are talking about, i just wish they would tour at least one more time.

  • @TheLastBloodBrother they are actually supposed to release a dual album at some point in the future

  • Oh Fear Before and their Wacky shenanigans!

  • i love this song and only this song :]] the video is sick

  • man i fucking love this band and the people in it, dont get me wrong, and this song is incredible, but i must admit, after the video this waiting makes me curious i had a little higher expectations for this video.

  • Fear Before = Shit

I only listen to fear before the march of flames.

  • @MJCastellanos same band dildo.

  • @MJCastellanos I hope your kidding

  • I honestly don't understand why people think they sound so different. Still the same Fear Before The March Of Flames, still making fucking amazing music

  • @alee891 have you never heard the first two cds they sound nothing like this maybe for a few seconds here and there but for the most part not really

  • @mebich1

I have all of their cd's, so yeah, I have heard it. Their sound is the same. Maybe not the vocals, but still quite similar on everything else

  • They get my ears off better than any other band i have EVER listened to.. Fuckin A

  • I have come to love FBMOF. To me they are sort of like the Blood Brothers. At first listen I wasn't sure if I was going to be into them but I would listen a bit more and then a bit more and finally it would overtake me and I loved it.

  • the earth it spins and shakes, it spits you out, it knows your name.

  • BEST BAND EVER. PERIOD

  • ill still call them FEAR BEFORE THE MARCH OF FLAMES.

  • @peppercock well you have too cause them flames are marching...and im fucking afraid...we should all be afraid....great band to listen to whilst dropping el

  • man i love this shit even though they are not that famous

  • This album doesn't touch mouth.

  • lol wow i just realized something about the song name

Fear Before doesnt listen to people who don't like them

    it's like a comeback to

"people who dont like Fear Before dont listen to them"

  • i recently got the fear before album cover tattooed on my leg, everyday i wake up and think of the points they put across in this album

    Everything in wanting more than

you are willing to give back

    Everything in wanting more than

    you deserve in return

  • Anyone notice how the most thumbs upped comments are totally illiterate? Haha owned by association.

  • It's a shame people are willing to just put this band off like that because they change so much. I will forever love Fear Before. The fact that they grow with every release and don't put out the same album but yet still letting people know they are the same band is a formula every band should live by. All hail Fear Before.

  • "The Earth. It spins, it shakes. It spits you out. It knows your name..."

    Genius.

  • where did they go???

  • wow. is this fear before the march of flames

  • i love how he has a rape face through the whole video

  • See them live. Appreciate the art. Does everything have to be the same - the same colors, the same style, the same impression? No. Appreciate or don't appreciate each song on its own merits, not on whether or not it is 'like' everything else the artist/band has done in the past.

  • @supercanfyock well said

  • fear before has always been good... and thankfully no one really sounds like them now... and orbs is also fucking amazing

  • ALL HAIL FEAR BEFORE

  • these guys went to shit.

  • @JmoROCKpants Fuck you. You have to accept the fact that bands change. I don't care if you think these guys went to "mainstream" or whatever. They didn't. They're still different from the lame shit on the radio, or the shit that hardcore kids listen to.

  • @blueamerican54 i'm sure it i gave them a chance i'd like them but i'd rather stick with their old stuff. i know it sounds close-minded but i don't have the energy to try and accept the new sould of i band who's old stuff i lived on. there's lots of bands like that.

  • @JmoROCKpants The funny part is they've actually gotten better. Their old stuff had its moments, but wasn't great as far as composition and overall sound, and they've gone from fairly generic metal to totally unique experimental music. So in short, i disagree with them turning to shit.

  • I saw these guys right after "The Always Open Mouth" came out and they were one of the openers for Norma Jean and they played a better set then the headliner! You've never seen someone take control of a stage until you've seen them!

  • to all the haters of Fear Before: pay attention to the song title, you're not getting anywhere with your shit talking about this band =D

  • this band is the truth...damn they are creative and innovative...keep on keepin on fear before...the march of flames or whatever other fuckin long as name yall got...

  • Fear Before are one of the most enthraling and underated bands of our time. Every album sounds so fresh that it could be a completely different band that has made them, but that one thing that links them, the thing you can't quite put your finger on is what makes them so unmistakable and keeps their albums so amazing even after the hunderedth listen

  • More bands need to be more open to experimentin with their sound like Fear Before the March of Flames.

  • this song reminds me of sunny day real estate alot

  • if this video wasn't so queer i might actually credit the song, but fear before sucks now. i remembered when i was 14 and they still had "the march of flames" in their name. i mean fuck, i saw them last year in auburn; every new song sucked, but hey--they were solid enough to acknowledge the fact that i was screaming for them to play 20th century inbetween every song.

  • are they covered in shit?

  • @Mordecai132 Yeah loads of shit....

    That's a fucking ignorant question

  • I mean, I will respect it if you say you don't like them, but if you say they suck, you can go fuck yourself.

  • I love FBMF. They don't sound like everything else in the so called scene. "Should have stayed in the shallows" and "taking Cassandra to the end of the world party" are amazing. Actually the entire art damage CD is great. There is too much crappy music out there and Fear Before is not one of them.

  • Jesus Christ, they are just so fucking good. I want to buy hundreds of Fear Before posters and shirts and CDs and hand them out to people in the street. So good.

  • Fashion Tips Baby!!

  • @santacruznp what does than mean...fuck, im sick and tired of looking at youtube comments of random shit..when you read this comment picture a fat man with a shady pair of glasses at a barber, and theres a coca cola machine right out the door..

  • @cheddarhobbit6 Fashion tips baby is one of their songs moron. dont comment on pages you know nothing about dumbass.

  • @cheddarhobbit6 What the fuck does that mean? Im a huge fear before the march of flames fan. And it was not random, "Fashion Tips Baby" is the first song on the first CD these guys put out. I'm sure any fan on this band would know that.

    Sorry 'bout the confusion

    NP

  • @santacruznp no problem man...we all make mistakes, its nice to know people out there care about the little guy....ferris buellers day off

  • fear before matured as i matured, I started listening to them when I was 16 and was into the more hardcore/screamo deal, now that I am 21 I am a bit more calm and alot more mature alot like them, if they wouldnt of changedf they wold of become like most of the other early hardcore/screamo bands and died off.

  • Same story with me too! haahha. I agree with your comment!

  • @MrHORSEtheMAN

the hardcore/screamo scene really needs to die now.now there trying to come up with these lame ass genres like crabcore and shit.i never liked the scene when i first heard of it

  • band is so weird without binks and ive listened to them from the start and i gotta say i love all there stuff love the change in style and how they come so far as musicians

  • What is the name of the band?

  • fear before the march of flames

  • just search it in spirit-of-metal(.)com or metalspirit(.)org...or even googel "mathcore metal bands list"y ill be on for sure!

  • the band is experimental rock with a side of post hardcore

  • this band is prety awesome, cant believe binks left the band..

  • Grunge Metal.

Might as well call it Oxymoroncore.

  • @Metitanium

    mathcore is the shit

  • lol finally remembered this bands bame, kept getting them mixed up with mewithoutyou :s

    sooo good

  • Its Called Mathcore and its a sub-genre of metalcore.

  • Thank you for understanding mathcore. people are so damn retarded.

  • they may have changed there name, but they still sound like the old FBTMOF ive listened too, good shit!

  • they dropped "the march of flames," they're just fear before now.

  • Yeah I looked it up after I posted, I was sure it was just the album but you're right.

Still the best band out there, what's in a name?

  • oh hell yeah dude they've been my favorite band since Art Damage.

  • @karashibass no man they did, theyre calling themselves "fear before" i dont know why, i think "fear before the march of flames" was a really nice name, im kind of jealous i didnt come up with that.

  • yeah. they shortened their name cause everybody called them fear before instead of fear before the march of flames anyways

  • alright this is prob a stupid question but is this the same band as fear before the march o flames. please dont fucking kill me for being a dumbass. im just not really a fan and am just curious

  • yep :)

  • yes

fear before the march of flames have changes they Name to fear before

  • just found out about them today. they are ok, nothing to special. but not bad i guess.

  • I love all the people who trash talk on here, they clearly didn't read the title.

  • hahaha totallu agree with you

  • a lot of their old stuff is better but even now they don't dissapoint.

ps.-is anybody aware?. that some of their songs make references to movies. Right now the one that comes to my mind. The 20th Century was Entirely Mine..song refers to a quote made by Al Pacino in the Devil's Advocate. Virgin Suicides and Donnie Darko are also in their songs but I can't remember the songs right now.

  • you also know that the name FEAR BEFORE THE MARCH OF FLAMES is a quote.

  • I just found out about them today, fucking amazing banddddd

  • @khmaster No shit? They're pretty old. But their sound has progressed and changed a lot since the older stuff.

  • This band owns idk wut some of you are saying i like them not only because their amazing sound but listen to their lyrics THEY ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE SAME BULLSHIT ON RADIO. Its original. Jeez some people dont know anything about music you need to absorb all of the music you can you stupid cunts.

  • hell yeah dude... the reason they're one of my favorite bands is because they are unique as fuck.

  • well put ....

  • @scyther27 and their fucking weird on stage, thats what got my attention, there is no band like these guys, i dont care what anyone says. and who the fuck dances around a tree on stage? these guys do haha, they stole the stage at the alesana Drop dead gorgeous show i went to.

  • @scyther27 You sound like a teenage prick.

  • @scyther27 Dude i agree! Or like the band orbs.... I cant remember his name, andy? the singer of Fear Before.. he sings in Orbs and his lyrics are just like you said original... and his voice is too

  • @scyther27 thank you also.

  • I like these guys , !!!!!! And Yes I am The Next Kevin Skinner ,, Let it Roll ..

  • for the gore guy..i kinda know what youre saying.

but ive been listening to fear before since my sophmore year in high school, its been 2 years since i graduated and i still listen to them. i personally believe the reason why i like them is because theyre not straight intended to be a hard band. something i assume you expect when listening to them.....fear before THE MARCH OF FLAMES the music i prefer..due to their new music sounding like many other bands is that they experiment with sounds

  • Meh, I don't care how hard shit is. I listen to fucking Mariah Carey in my down-time FFS. The thing is, the music is boring. They're not good at what they do. It's all personal opinion though, thats what romulus doesn't notice.

  • i guess if thats how you feel. no one can force anyone onto anything. and seriously FEAR BEFORE FANS stop getting mad if someone doesnt like them...let this guy give his opinion and move on..EVERYONE LIKES DIFFERENT MUSIC...fear before is probably one of my fav louder bands.. since i ususally listen to bands like the strokes, phoenix, and dirty projectors

  • Strokes=win.

  • yea they are.. i would say them and muse are my favorite bands..but i guess this isnt something to tlk about on another bands board

  • Haha, this isn't another band's board. It's youtube. ou can mention whatever you want. That's why its ok for the guy below to tell me that getting an education is wrong.

Anyways, muse is pretty good, I really got into them with this last album.

  • hahah yea i guess..i wonder if bands take the time to go and read the boards....yea their new album is good, i liked the symphonies, though i think absolution is still my favorite album by them,.im thinking this new albums going to send em main stream here in the us...and well i cant wait to see em this us tour

  • They really don't. They put their energy into their myspace or onto their own personal forums.

And yeah, Muse is going to get more mainstream credit, but I think they're one of the few bands that has managed to keep their musical integrity in doing so. I think that shows that Americans are starting to get into that sound, which is a lot better than the usual crap they like.

I might catch them when they come, it depends on what other concerts are around that time.

  • This is a pretty sick band. Those drum fills are amazing

  • In the middle of all this arguing I would just like to say: I love Fear Before!

    What a tune!

  • this is my favorite fucking band but they keep missing lawrence! this latest album blew all previous work out of the water

  • i was led to believe that these guys mellowed out since the name change by a friend. i took that advice and didnt give them a chance, how foolish i was. this is still intense and as crazy as art damage, just without the screaming. now i feel stupid for not seeing them live a few years ago.

  • exactly and these bitches barely go anywhere good on tour. shit.. im in NYC and they came here only twice! rrrg!! they actually make a lot more sense now... and there is way more depth to their lyrics.

  • i agree with you the lyrics are so deep and some are just creepy and its so freaking great this time around

  • if you think this band sold out YOU ARE AN IDIOT and dont know music

  • fear before fans are smart, i love it when they pick apart these labeling control freaks.. listen to the music and FEEL ALIVE haha.. thats what its about

  • incredible

  • there best music video is My fucking deer hunter. I love that vid. And these dudes shouldn't be under post hardcore.

  • I love every album these guys have released

  • awesome song

  • youre kind of bland, this is a VERY creative band.

  • they have changed significantly over the years. Their first album is more "mathematical" if you will

  • Hopefully it's better than this...

  • good music transcends labels.

fear before is a difficult band to categorize.

they aren't mathcore, they're a little more raw for post-hardcore.

if you can't just listen to music without labeling it then you are, my friend, a tool.

  • the reason why u got so much negative feedback is cos ur dead wrong and a faggot

  • LOL ok. They suck. Sorry, can't help that. Their song-writing is boring and lazy. And how does my sexual orientation have ANYTHING to do with this? Oh wait, all fans of shit core bands like this are homophobic little 13 year old cunts, who will grow up and realize they're favorite bands are actually shit, and be ashamed of their previous listening pleasures.

  • haha you paint your finger nails like a lady, fear before rules, this band tours playing music they love, you probably live with your parents, nuff said

  • Ok, How is my painting my fingernails relevant at ALL?

Ok, first of all. Your first point about how fear before tours playing the music they love is irrelevant. So does kenny chesney. So does Carrie Underwood. So does Kanye West. And they all suck.

Now that the first point has been disproven.

How does the fact that I live with my parents have any relevance? Yes, I do live with them, as I'M STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL. Judging by your maturity level, i'd say you still live with yours.

  • so u dont deny the fact that u paint ur fingernails????

  • No. Because it doesn't fucking matter. Stop using red herrings and straw men, your debate skills are laughable at best.

  • i have no idea wat red herrings and straw men even mean, but u sound like a giant douche.....

  • Yes. The guy using actual argumentation is a douche, and not the guy calling his opponent a fag. You're pretty much a failure, do you know that? A red herring is when you focus on something that does not pertain in the slightest to the topic at hand, such as calling me a fag, or ridiculing me for painting my nails.

  • i aint trying to debate u dickhead. at first i thought i would, but now im just happy to rip on u for being a douche, fag and emo

  • a red herring is a purposeful distraction from something

  • haah give up now kid

saying ppl suck, and well lets put it this way

they suck less than u coz..well ther rich

    grow up u twat

    FEAR BEFORE ROOOLZ

  • Lol they most certainly are not "rich." And if you think ANY band other than pop is RICH, then you're an idiot.

It's funny how you told me to grow up then put something as childish as "rooolz". Go fucking learn grammar, you piece of shit.

  • ahah i dont listen to fat pricks that pick 'debates' with females about feminism, stop being an arsehole and listen to them? maybe ull get laid and start to enjoy life

so fear befores shit? coz they write songs about life and its wonders and dissapoinments? but i guess u reckon cannibal corpse has more meaning in the song rancid amputation?

    sure sure

CC sucks simply because ther vocal range is 0

  • Wow. Judging a band by simply vocals? You sir, are fail. And btw, Corpsegrinder does high AND low screams.

And, I have gotten laid. It's fun. Really fun. I honestly can't comment on how stupid and irrelevant you are.

I think fear before is shit because their music is bad. It's awful. I don't give a fuck about their lyrics. But the title of this song makes them sound butthurt. CC is MEANT to have meaning in lyrics. It's like watching a horror movie... Why do you do it? For the gore.

  • ahha for the GORE?

    grow the fuck up

go grab a gun and shoot up the people who you think ruined ur life u pathetic piece of shit

the only reason your so against fear before is because ur scared of change.. this is self evident with ur weight problem and arrogance.

  • What the fuck are you TALKING about? "Shoot up the people you think ruined your life"? Dude, I fucking LOVE my life.

And what does obesity have to do with a fear of change?

I'm against fear before because they make BORING MUSIC.

I have weight problems because I eat and don't work out. I'm not AFRAID of changing that, I'm just content at where I am. I'm not ARROGANT i just have opinions. By your logic, when someone tells you something you dont like, youre a puss if you dont change.

  • What/s funny here, is that you completely ignored all my points about how much of a fucking moron you are, and decided to make pointless attacks on me.

And, really, life and its wonders? REALLY? Dude, please DIAF. If all you care about is lyrics, then your opinion is worth fucking NIL.

  • you are arrogant because you commented on a youtube video and said your thoughts about the band

fans disagree with your view and u didnt respect their opinions, u claimed yours was the truth

therefore ur an arrogant bastard becuase u can not respect the views of others

enjoy the rest of ur life as an arrogant shit head with multiple health problems

  • I"m arrogant because I have opinions?

Ummm... Wow. I really don't know what to say. I mean. You're such a moron. This is just, wow. I mean, you're being a total fucking hypocrite. You're making fun of me for being content in my obesity, and insulting the music I enjoy, and you're saying I am arrogant for doing exactly what you're doing? That doesn't make any sense... But I guess you have to be a moron to understand such logic.

Go learn music theory. Fear Before is boring musically. Fact

  • kk im put it in simpler terms for u to understand

STOP TRYING TO BE BETTER / SMARTER / MORE OF AN ASSHOLE THAN U ALREADY ARE!

do u understand that? mister i have better logics?

  • You don't want me to improve myself...? Ummm... Are you saying I should drop out of college? "Stop trying to be better/smarter..." You completely changed gears, and made an even more retarded message.

And, LOL "logics." I can see why you don't want other people to get better educations, you've already obviously given up on yours and hate seeming like the idiot you really are.

  • haha fat cunt

i srsly dont give a shit

dont diss music u dont like and try to justifie urself

get some friends and 'college' education doesnt account for shit ur still a arrogant prick

american education system is well its shit haha dunno y ur proud about that

y do i not seek higher education? because ive been offered a 600 dollar a week apprenticeship..

oh and look whos beating the recession? australia! not america oh nice fuck up ya yanks

  • Wow. You don't give a shit but you don't shut up?

And, apprenticeship is bettering yourself, which goes against you're doctrine.

Same to you, don't diss cannibal corpse and try to justify it.

American education system is NOT college education. College is private institutions.

Can you come up with anything I can't dispatch with a sentence or two? Do you know who's fucked over in water supply in a short period of geological time... Australia!

  • I know music theory, and Fear Before is my favorite band. You are both being idiots. Internet arguments derrrp.

    Oh and, underage b&.

  • Baseless claims made without evidence derrrp. Just because you know music theory doesn't mean your favorite band does. And also, just because you know music theory doesn't mean you have good taste in music. And, as my last also, ALSO, just because someone knows music theory, doesn't mean they won't squander it making shit music. I lied, heres another: And ALSO, just because someone knows music THEORY, doesn't mean they can PLAY well.

    Nice job failing.

  • Okay, give me proof of everything you have been trying to drill into our heads.

Just because you don't like a band, doesn't automatically make them shitty musicians.

We have very similar music tastes, so shit on my taste in music all you want, you'll be shitting yourself.

Another baseless claim? Prove me wrong.

  • Mehf. Most of your claims have been baseless. The fact that you claim to know music theory is baseless, as you neglected to give evidence to support it.

And your statement that we have very similar musical tastes is also baseless, as I know for fact you have KNOW clue what I like, nor did you provide a list of your favorite musicians so that I could compare.

    Fail. So. Much. Fail.

Do me a favor and DIAF please.

  • Well, I did research on your favorites page. Message me to compare musical tastes.

I take music theory classes at the Crane School of music at SUNY Potsdam. Look it up, it's a tough school to get into. Can't think of any other way I can prove it, as I don't have a camera anymore.

  • There we go, proof! Here, i'll give ya quiz real quik to see if ya actually know your stuff. What note(s) are changed when you go from A minor to A phyrgian? "A" being the root, not just a as in "a scale"

  • That's quite an obscure question. Natural or harmonic?

  • Natural. And, the obscurity is the point o.O haha. That, and I just wrote a song that scale changed from A phrygian to A natural minor, so it was on the top of my head, hahaha.

  • They are really two different types of scales.

Basically, you would just play an A major scale, starting on C sharp. Unless you are switching to Phrygian #6, which is a melodic minor scale... but I don't think you are, or else you would have specified or just said Dorian b2.

I am basing all of this on guitar, I hope that's what you are talking about.

  • Yeah, guitar, lol. I wish I was cool enough to play keys. But yup yup, you know your shit. Nice. I'm trying to work in another scale change after the A Phrygian to A natural minor to a mixolydian, just because I've never really written in mixolydian. It'd be the third scale change, the first being a G Diminished scale to the A phrygian. I have no clue how i want to go about it, though.

  • You got me.

  • awesome.

  • Where are they from??

  • aurora colorado.

  • the video enhances the song imo

  • see thats what i hate when good bands tour with shitty bands ..its drawn the wrong people

  • art sucks like that

  • I know.

Fear Before makes me feel about music what Dominique Francon feels about art.

  • Fear Before makes me feel what Howard Roark feels about Dominique Francon.
