  • GUys help me out. What is being played at 0:42?

  • @Freakishd Voodoo Child slight return at Lulu. One of the shortest versions of voodoo child ever, shorter than the studio version.

  • I'm a guitar player, not a drummer. But just listening to Mitch play you can tell he"s a talent. He's incredible on Manic Depression .

  • Mitch was good. I liked him. Him and Hendrix were good together. RIP

  • Another of rocks most underrated talents. God bless you Mitch.

  • There is no one like Mitch. He was my favorite when i was a kid and still is.They rated him 21st on the all time list. But to me he will always be #1.

  • God bless you Mitch. Up there with Jimi and Noel now........there's one heck of a a gig going on in Heaven.

  • The hands down most unrecognized genius drummer of all time..

  • Drummers never get the credit they deserve!Mitch was one of the best.that's the reason I have Hendrix albums because of the great rhythm section

  • 60s musicians never got the credit, money they deserved.i was hoping the HENDRIX estate would help them out a little.

  • All you have to do is listen to fire and you can hear the genius of ALL three members. RIP experience.

  • Anybody who wants to understand Mitch has to listen to Third Stone from the Sun, Fire, and Manic Depression.

  • @hamrite

    And...I Don't Live Today ;-)

    JMH #1

  • @hamrite ...If six was nine, One rainy wish

  • @hamrite There isn't one rock drummer that can play jazz like Mitch demonstrates in Third Stone from the sun..

  • 0:59 AHHHHH!!!! RUN AWAY!!!!

  • @josh71111 that guys creepy

  • think about it,,if you were born in the 40's and 50's,you had nothing but good influential drummers back then like rich and roach and krupa,,now,,if you pick up the drumsticks, you have crap metal drummers as your influence.

  • What a world of murderous hatred was airbrushed out in phrases such as

" more acceptable to a very racially stratified radio scene in the United States".

  • rip jimi hendrix

  • that was the tribute? wtf^^

  • thanks .. but I agree with you others ... Mitch deserved so much more. Isn't this the time to talk about ... Mitch Mitchell ?

  • TRAVIS BARKER IS BETTER!!

    ...

    ...

JUST KIDDING!! r.i.p. mitch, you and billy cobham will forever rule the world of drumming for me

  • seb rochford is awesome

  • I dont get all the "drummer aint a musician" jokes.

  • @templarsquad there are only a few melodious drummers (like Elvin Jones)

  • Best band ever! all 3 of them were gods!

  • I wonder what the natural causes were...

  • Jazz-Rock, quite possibly the best thing since sliced bread.

  • @HendrixTjaden =O they have SLICED bread now??!!! What's next? Chocolate milk?

  • The TV host says Mitch died at age 62.

  • I had no idea that Mitch had passed.....

    HUGE influence on my drumming.

    what a legend.

RIP Mitch. How they still shower Hendrix when it's supposed to be a tribute for Mitch!!??

  • Natural causes?

Yeah, right, if you consider death from use of the tobacco drug as a "natural cause". Like 5,000,000 addicts around the world every year, he was effectively murdered by the tobacco pushers and their weapon of mass destruction.

  • Mitch technically created jazz-rock fusion but never got credit for it.

  • The British adopted Jimi like he was an Englishman, the Experience were a British invasion band. The British though pretty much adopted Buddy Holly too and made him a superstar way before Texas.

  • Glad to have met Mitch once and gotten his autograph along with Noel's on my 'Electric Ladyland' album. Good to see they did proper recognition of Mitch's death. However, if they really wanted to do a story they should use their airtime to show how the British Government is currently disallowing evidence for the murder of Jimi Hendrix from coming forward.

  • why are the two Mitch Mitchell sound bites about 1) he feels bad about having shagged groupies, and 2) Hendrix cooking with a guitar on? How about the music academy he was recruited from to join the Experience, maybe something about his drumming style? Talk about damning with faint praise! Mitchell was fucking incredible, certainly for a rock drummer ( I won't put him up against the various jazz drummers, but he was good enough to play jazz if he'd chosen. Well, God bless your soul, Mitch

  • the announcer is a complete jerk...why do fools like that even get these jobs

  • I really wish that they had put a picture of Mitch Mitchell at the start, During the newS thingy. Instead of a picture of Hendrix.

    No respect..

  • @Swagerama I'm sure he would disagree, the band he was in was called 'The Jimi Hendrix Experience'

  • I know but Im just saying Mitch Mitchell died.. I dunno why they would show a picture of hendrix by himself..

  • @thedon4203333333 We are talking about the man's death not just a band he played in for a short time of his life there mate.

  • Hendrix Experience is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • and so castles made of sand, slips into the sea, eventually. cant wait to see him when my time comes.

  • I hate how they still shower Hendrix when it's supposed to be a tribute for Mitch.

    RIP

  • Mitch really was one of the greats! This is quite a good overview and tribute from Newsnight.

  • same age as my dad, shiiiiiiiit!

  • the announcer guy was kind of a dick

  • RIP Mitch Mitchell. I love your drums on Gypsy Eyes.

  • he sounds like stewie a little

  • R.I.P. mitch mitchell Copy and Paste if you respect the fallen hero

    best drummer ever

  • mitch mitchell was a great drummer, but what i don't get is when he tried for Paul mccartney and the wings. Why wasn't he ever let in?

Note this was after the J.H.E

  • hgot his autograph on a napikin a few months before he went he is a god...

  • god....i had no idea that Mitch had passed.....

    HUGE influence on my drumming.

    what a legend.

    RIP Mitch.
