Bogus. I changed the broken LCD in my wife's phone, but it didn't fix the problem. Before, there was only a faint glow and a big crack that got brighter when you pressed on it, so I figured it was just the LCD that was broken, so I replaced the LCD and now there is just the same faint glow, but without the crack. Anybody have any idea what the problem could be?

I don't blame you, I blame Nokia for designing this phone badly when they had to hurry because iPhone was out almost year before this and nobody bought Nokia internet tablets which only had wifi internet calls

@newtechphones Well maybe it's a demo video.... but it was detailed enough for me to replace my Nokia 5800 touch screen ;) it takes 10 minutes to replace it! And to all people that want to fix your screen...BE CAREFULL IF YOU TAKE FRONTCOVER OFF!!!! You can see in the video the frontcover is connected to the circuitboard with a very small flat cable that can brake easy!! It's because the frontcover has LED's and menu button. Be sure you open it like in the video..

@MBPtheFirst You mean the cable from the touchscreen in the front panel? Because if that is what you mean you can buy a new touchscreen. because it's easy to replace... but a bit harder than the display. And it will cost you around 10 euro's. But if it's the cable with the vga camera and where your earpiecespeaker is fitted in you have bigger problem! Because that happend to me when i have to do a second repair.

And it will cost you around 20 euro's.

But if your a bit techical you can also do that yourself.... the nokia 5800 is really easy to repair compared to other phones.

Reageren op deze video... First you have to lift the screen from the bottom...where your green/white/red buttons are in order to not brake the flatcable!! If you lift the screen where your earphones go in and charger...your doomed ;)

Something heavy fell on my 5800,and now the bottom of the screen ( less than half of it) is like some color lines! and a little crack on the right side of the lcd ! bought an lcd and fixed it watching this film.worked out fine.saved mysel 100 € on fixing it myself.you should have been a little more specific on how to attach the contact of the coverscreen, which was not very clear to me.however I've descovered how to and it worked ! Or how youtube can learn us something everyday :-)
