"O Death, I come to you in humility I bring you nothing: no house, no money, no family...no ego. I offer you only my body which I sacrifice to you on my funeral pyre. Respect me O Death, for I have made the ultimate sacrifice. I give you my life." From "The Amita Gaytri"( to be published) Om Shanti Shanti Shanti
In my view , this is worst style of saying good bye to your beloved ones... You are not giving respect to your beloved deads and just firing them...
However keeping this fact in our mind that hindus ( like all other non believer of God) has to go to hell which is also fire , i think it is similar start of an eventual end!!!
@aixtiger You are a disrespectful idiot who knows nothing of other cultures! These are deeply religious people more so than so called christians who use their material senses for themselves. Grow up and educate yourself!
It's not offensive to me, but then, I'm not Hindu. *shrug*
Where burial/cremation is concerned, I think it depends on the person & thier religion and culture about what to do with thier loved ones once they've passed on. I guess some ppl have different ways of remembering thier lost loved ones - some of which don't include a gravesite or a tomb.
Buried or cremated, it doesn't matter! What really matters is *where* you go, not how you go.
And being buried in the ground is not "gone for good?" Do you know in 1 year the whole body will rot in the ground and only bones, hair, nails will remain. The coffin will stick of ****.
Appearance is important to Hindus and Sikhs and better to be reduced to ashes in one go than slowly rot into liquid form.
Also you place alot of importance on the body, when the soul is of utmost importance.
sinner420 is really worst on what ever you just said.. please it will be appriciated if you can at list give some respect to dead, and also there family.
its not a concern on how they are buried, but yes its a main concern that we miss them all.
I've never seen such a positive outlook on death at a funeral. I had no idea about other religion's funerals. Very interesting. I hope I have an uplifting funeral like that. Thanx for sharing
What beautiful acts of respect and dignity! This is a true example of the ultimate gift we can give to our deceased loved ones and that is to take care of them in death as we do in life.
Thanks, My son died 2 years before this and I was apalled by the way the undertakers took over, cost a lot and christianised the who experience. That is what drove me to send this onto YouTube. Cremations.
In 1963 The Pope proclaimed that it was no longer illegal for Roman Catholics to be cremated.
There are now 245 crematoriums in existence and over 70% of people choose to be cremated after they die. Hindus have been cremating for 1000s of years and wish to do that in the UK.

They usually don't show the actual cremation at a modern crematorium. So, he skipped right over to going to the Ganges River.

Pathetic. One star. Evil, satanic, and diabolical. If you choose cremation you shall NOT inherit the Kingdom of God!

Very interesting. I'm glad I have some idea why Hindus cremate. You see Christians associte fire with burning in Hell. Hindus see fire as sacred.
