Mercuryazvedka: The beauty of being a conspiracy theorist is that you can afford to be vague and offer little to no foundation for your argument other than pointing at invisible, indefinable sources of nefariousness as the catalyst for an event.
The thesis of the book is that the engagement of US forces is often counterproductive to the foreign policy objectives in the first place. Engagement in certain areas often creates new enemies instead of destroying the original ones.

I am sure some in the audience believe in what David is saying.
Some in the audience actually know who created Al Qaeda and are too scared to say;
some in the audience understand Americas' strategic aims in Eurasia to control Asia and Europe and understand how Al Quaeda gives pretext to invade and remain in the region.
And a small compartment in the audience pull Al Qaeda's strings and think what a new great game it is, while nodding at Davids earnest face and thinking you naive joke.

Maybe the problem is dictatorship and lack of modern social and economic structures. Maybe the problem radical islamists (jihadis) fermenting terrorism, civil war and mayhem within your countries.

Read Ziggy Zbigniew's strategic aims in the Caspian. 'He who controls Eurasia controls Asia and Europe...controling the production and supply of oil & gas from the world second largest proven fields'.
Afghanistan is a corridor for a pipeline and a stepping stone into the rest of the stans surrounding the Caspian. I could poke fun at your ignorance but you are only as good as your national education system and the goyems are best kept in Plato's cave looking at shadows on the wall.

I don't think he is. I just finished his book and I think he feels solving grievences (israel- palistine) and not attacking or occupying muslim countries are critical to defeating al quid. But I'm just getting into books by military strategest. Have you heard of a book called DYING TO WIN?
