I love this song and the video is a perfect match. The lyrics really show Wendy's poetic side, and the music reminds me of Wendy's best Warners albums - in fact, I thought her entire 'My Time in the Desert' album was one of her best ever.
@longhousegirl - Thanks so much for replying. Grief is such an overwhelming experience and life changing. I was aware of and sorry for your losses. Somehow hopefully we will find peace. I know of the Refugees and will contact Cindy. Thanks so much again for your taking the time to reply. :)
@ckooten1 do you know Cindy Bullens, my band mate in the Refugees? You probably do, but if by any chance you don't, please contact her--she is a bereaved parent and a very strong activist-she does a lot of concerts and work with bereaved parents. In fact I'm with her at such a conference. If you're not, you need to be aware of her work and the possibility to network with so many others. I lost my dad, Kenny Edwards, and Andrew Gold all in the last few months, but your story is harder by far.
I have seen Wendy in concert at least a half-dozen times and I own every album she ever produced. My favorite concert was in Santa Fe where she opened for Bonnie Raitt. Wendy was a regular on WCAS in Boston back in the 70's. I miss those days, and Wendy is in constant rotation on my IPOD. Thank you Wendy!
Got to see her at the Troubadour in Hollywood in the late 70's, sat right at the stage took a ton of photos of her performing. Her music helped me through many a tough time. Great song writer. I've got several of her albums and on CD. Listen to it all the time on my iPod. Good memories.
I really love this song although I wish I could locate "Is he coming at all?" But this
rendition is just awesome !!!! As also is "Living is good......" Wendy Waldman, Laura Nyro and Carole King are all three a force to be reckoned with !!!!!!
Is there a version of "Is he coming at all?" by Wendy Waldman...I've been feverishly trying to locate one here on youtube but with no success.....Please direct me anyone who might know.....
i have loved w.w. since i was a child. all her records are nothing short of a masterpiece. especially MY TIME IN THE DESERT. my very first album was GYPSY SYMPHONY!!!
I can't listen to this song without tears. I lost my husband, my one love. The very first time I heard this song, every word cut through me like a knife. What an incredible singer/songwriter Wendy Waldman has been over the past 3 decades. Thank you for all of your wonderful music over the years, Wendy.
I've just lost a sweet pup last monday and the pain is unreal. I can't begin to fathom your loss and pain. I hope you heal and cope. Thank heaven for music like this that heals and soothes and expresses thoughts we can't! Thank you too - WW!
In 1976, Warner Brothers released The Main Refrain with scant promotion. As a result, this gem of a record went relatively unnoticed. Consistent throughout is music that is melodic, harmonic & beautiful. In short, it is her masterpiece. Why some artists & not others realize fame & fortune is a perennial music industry riddle. If you like what you've heard here - My Last Thought, check her other music & make your first stop The Main Refrain. To this day it remains among my favorite albums.

I have never heard a Wendy song that didn't stay with me for ever. And yes, even though she has had a steady career, there is much more that she could do if only given the chance.

I always thought that Wendy was the natural progression from Laura Nyro. I would love to see if there is a version of "Is He Coming at All".

Wendy this is GORgeous. Damn, why isn't on iTunes? I can hear so well how this would fit underneath a particular TV show I shan't name, too....
Will someone pay attention here? Will someone finally pay this woman some attention? Sheesh.
