I believe the average American would be pleasantly surprised if they were more educated on the health benefits of a truly healthy diet. I'd stand by saying ~50% of current prescriptions could be filled with fruits and greens, instead of deadly pills.

@viodesa3 I agree with you, however I would go even farther. I think that 90-99% of all health problems could be solved with a proper diet. Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, said "Let medicine be thy food, and food be thy medicine." I think it is an illusion that drugs are doing any good, Yes, they can lower blood pressure, etc, however this does NOT mean they are doing any good. i was prescribed cipro and after taking one pill i woke up in the middle of the night almost not being able to walk so i stopped taking it, i have had reserves on drugs but when you need it what do you do? now when i have a doctor appt i demand zithromax even if they try to give me something else. Remember doctors get kick back for pushing new drugs, i think doctors are put in a bad position between the insurance companies and drugs co, this all needs to be changed. Vote for dr ron paul 2012

Others can be cured by natural means such a cannabis preparation for skin cancer. And most pain from structural issues can be cured by massage/chiropractic. I am crippled thanks to an FDA-approved drug (Cipro). Haven't been able to walk for two years now. In addition to tendon, muscle and joint destruction I also have torn retinas, peripheral neuropathy, non-stop ringing in my ears, circulation problems, skin issues, hair loss, and on and on and on. All from TWELVE pills. Fucking criminals! I hope someone terrorizes Bayer and the FDA for what they are doing to an unsuspecting public. May they burn in hell.

@papatoony-maybe 45 days of slow-dosing (occaisonally high-dosing and smoking some of it on a bowl of cannabis), I went to my oncologist, and after enduring a nasty lecture and a near-threat of being kicked to the curb to find another one, which was fine by me anyway, I had a battery of tests done and my cancer was gone!. Not only that my rheumatoid arthritis and several other back problems I had were undetectable. I'm still to this day on methadone, norco, and clonazepam for pain

@papatoony- but, outside of having to take methadone because I get withdrawls without it (and at least 2/3 dose of clonazepam), I can go without my norco, which is a very sought after narcotic, for weeks at a time IF I got some cannabis or hash or oil. Which is very expensive. Now I know we have completely different conditions but you'd be amazed at how many conditions this stuff helps with. If you have anyone who can help you get some high grade cannabis (or if you smoke already)-

@papatoony I know someone w/very similar issues, and who's taken cipro once..a couple of years ago, give or take and who's now so weak they never get out of bed without huge motivation and sometimes even help. can walk but not very far or very fast. Never knew cipro could be at fault..I'm going to tell them about this. thanks

@preparadox Have them check their medical records. Cipro can cause problems while taking the drug -OR- they can manifest days, weeks or even months afterwards! Because people often suffer delayed reactions, they often never make the connection between their sudden slew of health problems and the pills they took weeks or months ago. Just Google "Cipro is poison" and begin reading the horror stories! Or look it up on askapatient...more horror stories.

@preparadox BTW I need to clarify that Cipro is not the only antibiotic that is capable of these gruesome and often permanent side effects--ALL antibiotics in the fluoroquinolone class are capable of the same. In fact over half of the drugs in this class have already been recalled for their horrific safety profiles. And the ones left on the market (Cipro, Avelox, Levaquin and a few others) are NO SAFER! These are drugs of last resort, yet are being handed out like candy for simple UTI's!!
