Commodore should have done this machine with a 16bit SID, 16 sprites, backwards compatible with the c64. We wouldn't have crap mechs like apple or microsoft nowadays.
Just for the correct video info: the C64 also had 64KB, but CPU ran at 1MHz (the system bus at 2MHz, and CPU and VIC with 16 colors shared on it). Compared to this, the Plus/4's CPU ran at a real 2MHz, and had a 120-color palette, but no sprites. Both machines had limited graphics capabilities by default (use of only a few colors at neighbouring pixels).
@vizimajac Actually the Plus/4 CPU also shares cycles with the video chip while the raster is in the display area (opposed to border / vblank). So bottom line the machine isn't much faster than a C64. "4 colors and 2 tunes at the same time" from the description means: max 4 simultaneous colors in a 4x8 pixel segment, 2 of them can change each segment; sound is only 2 channels sharing a 3 Bit volume, two fixed waveforms (square and "noise", the latter only available on one channel).

Wow, I can't believe it. It looks like an Atari ST demo. It's a shame it has taken 25 years to show what this machine can really do.
