  • WHAT A TUNE!!! old skool hip hop still rules!

  • K-sly is a fucking rapping beast. surely one of the best from the UK, alongside Blade, Scorzayzee and Phi Life :)

  • when rap was good. kamanchi sly............. end of. awesome group.

  • UK ruffneks

  • 1:58 - "Rap is doomed so erect the tomb.
Anger fills the minds of stong willed.
Some of them kill. They bastardise rap!"

23 years ago K Sly said this, and look at the state Hip Hop is today. The guy's a prophet.

  • Uk hip-hop was never bettered.

im so happy i lived thru the realness.

  • Old schoooooool.. I remember listening to Hijack and Derek B in the good old days. Rap 2011 is dead. RIP..

  • People these days don't believe in using ingenuity and imagination when doing something ... they think ... I need this ... rather than thinking ... "how can I do this with what I got" ...

I seen supreme live and I was blown away ... anyway Hijack always blows it away.

  • here are the real scratches that is missing on this time

  • know one today can get close to this, from the heart, doing something you love.

NO LOVE TODAY,JUST MONEY!!!! REWIND BITCHES!!

  • these guys were the nuts, signed up by rhyme syndicate but when ice realized they were better than him they got shelved, he actually started nicking a lot of they're stuff. check out kamanchisly real on facebook, he's still making music and is well with the cause.

  • hijack=heavy...one person is a dick....

  • 1 person was just jack!

  • this is what it's all about. hip hop has lost it's way !

  • This is why I like hiphop. Underground that is. Mainstream hiphop is useless compared to what atmospheres these kinda tracks have to offer, fo' real! LEGENDARY STUFF!

  • soundtrack of my youth , still gives me goosebumps , the horns of jericho album is what its about , take note it still sounds as fresh as it did in the eightes

  • I AM TOTALLY COVERED IN GOOSE BUMPS, EVERY TIME SINCE THE BEGINNING, IS IT IN YOUR BLOOD TOO???? SOUTH LONDON SERVERSSSSSSS

  • How the feck did a 14 year old yank find this to hit dislike?!? Stick to that ringtone rap. 88 is back!

  • i remember now why i loved hip hop ...mostly shite about now ...

  • I saw undercover do the scratchin at the Hummingbird in Birmingham in 88. You couldnt see his fingers, just a blur. truely incredible

  • watch out for some nu shit coming up next

    X-RAY(D.J.UPPERKUT/READYKILL) feat.BANDOG(KILLA INSTINCT)

search here for "READYKILL 2010" and you can listen to the instrumental

  • yep, still fucking smashing it

  • yep

  • At the time this tune was to be recorded, Simon Harris was away or even sick. A young Brian B (Twilight Firm) was called in , too Sequence the loops on this track with his MPC 60, used on the Demon Boyz LP. He was there at the time, and all sratches were done live. A little known fact. Ask Supreme.

  • pure bad boys 4 ever, what a tune

  • Wow!!!!!!!! I found the song i have always loved:))) i have this version on a cassette tape, lol I remember freaking the fuck out to this:))

  • dj supreme rules !

  • one of my all time top hiphop albums, class

  • It wasn't slowed down when Undercover did the scratching, he did it live in the studio. This is my favorite Hijack track - very talented group, they came along very prepared and knew exactly what they wanted and I enjoyed working with them and producing this track with them. Supreme was also an excellent DJ - Simon Harris (Music of Life)

  • the money maker, hip hop faker, prepetrator and change rhyme rhythm taker...

  • @slugworth28

    ...James Brown rhythm taker.

  • @PrAnG2000 thanks that sounds more plausable... i like how hijack together their rhymes .. but i get a little lost in making sense of them...

  • @slugworth28

Cool, bro. Backed with "Hold No Hostage" this 12" is one of the best ever UK Hip Hop releases. There is supposed to be a Westwood and Derek B diss in one of these tracks.

  • i'm the fkn master scratcher anyway. self taught no fkn knowledge of scratch techniques or scratch names and just do it ad-lib to any tune. every scratch master come and bit me.

  • @monitoronstool

    lol

Ok post up a video big man, lets see you in action..

  • stlyewars, hold no hostage, doomsday of rap have the hardest beats raps&scratches in hiphop history...these trax are " EVERGREENS "......stylewars made me start scratchin` and producing...thanx 4 that.....I will never 4get where I`m coming from.......D.J.Uppacut (Readykill)

  • I am not sure about a RUN DMC gig, but I do know they had beef with EPMD, The DJ refused to play any Hijack tunes at the gig, so Hijack did what they do best, Hijack the decks, and played Hold No Hostage over and over, until the power was cut off. Hijack received negative press because of this.

Hijack refused to co-operate with the press from this point onwards. (well for about 3 years anyway)

  • damn i always hear ozone breakdown come in @ 1:46 lol

  • Knowledge dropped!!

All these dj's were class. I have early tapes of some of the uk ones you mentioned. DJ Streets Ahead, Dj Ron. Both were excellent dj's especially Ron on the classic Soul All Dayer vinyl recording.

Too Tuff was incredible for Tuff Crew.

  • The only issue I remember Hijack having was with EPMD, not Run DMC.

  • That's arrogant of you.. lol Just because you can not do the Uzi scratch, does not mean Undercover slowed the tape down back in 88 lmao,

In fact Undercover did this live On the Westwood show BEFORE Hijack and TT. It can be done without a crossfader, you can use the phono/line switch too. I saw Hijack live 2 times back in the day, and I saw this done with my own two eyes. and in 91 there was no curve control, or hamster switch.

  • I think you both could be right, you know.

I was once told by a friend of the HQ squad that the tape was slowed down for one scratch, but I don't know which one or how true it is.

I do know that the excellent Undercover scratch that Says "Hijack" in a pitched vocal, is actually saying "I Got"

  • @britcorefan1 right ...!!! ...

  • @britcorefan1 BraaaP!!!!

  • To whoever britcorefan1 was addressing - If you go on the old Google videos site, you can watch the DJ Supreme - Turntable Trixters documentary and Undercover does the exact uzi scratch from this track live on that.

  • @funkinlesson Acutely it is DJ Mada from Hardnoise/Son of Noise doing the Uzi scratch on Supreme s DVD :)

  • @britcorefan1

Yes, Mada trying his best to repeat the uzi :-) Mada is a great scratcher too, and he was cool on this part when he's doing it. Both my favourites. Its cool that Q-Bert gives Supreme such respect in the movie. Have you listened to Mada's skills on his website?

  • Your wrong about them slowing the tape down. I have seen that scratch done live, and it can be done that dope, (if your good enough) Search DJ Mada Hijack Scratch, its on you tube.

  • Legendary and alive!!!

Head up guys, you are one of the best!!!

  • Dominating like that of Chuck D with a razor edge that Gillette would long to obtain, That was Hijack

  • 4life :)

  • Great stuff..

  • untouchable british hip hop at its best.

  • words can not do them justice. bow down.

  • excellent! One of the two best uk hip hop records ever made, alongside blades 'forward' the b-side to 'mind of an ordinary citizen'

  • If there has been a better display of emceeing skills on a track by a UK Hip Hop artist I haven't heard it. K-sly absolutely killed it on this track. As a former emcee myself this is one of a handful of tracks in which I was so envious I actually wished I'd written the lyrics. Peace, Fresh Ski

  • whats that famous tune in the background fadin in and out? any feedbk cheers

  • Apache - Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band

  • sad

  • absolute claasic; a definite standard bearer, alongside 'HOLD NO HOSTAGE', when i got into music production.

was fortunate to know these guys, as i'm from BRIXTON.

    SOUTH LONDON SERRRRRRRRRRRRRVES...AGAIN!

  • best use of my pocket money ever. bongo band break used to full effect. the b-side was good aswell.

  • Where are theses guys now?? fuckin' probably the best crew ever , fuck probably , they are

  • Kamanchi Sly did the MCing in that DJ Pied Piper tune "we're loving it, loving it, loving it, we're loving it like that..."

Best UK Hip Hop crew ever though, alongisde London Posse, Demon Boyz, Gunshot...

  • Hijack, unbreakable.. wickedest shit ever... Sweden massive seh so!!

  • One of the best Hip hop tunes ever! Even remember Red Alert saying that back in the day!

  • in there day ,they wer fukin awsome

  • Best Brithop track ever imho

  • been into hip hop since 89...loved hijack in the day, real underground at the time...great stuff..peace

  • anyway yu can send this song to me sir ?

  • dope nice upload

  • this wasnt on my Jericho copy.....

  • what`s the name of album?

  • If you meant DJ Supreme, it's not true. It's not the Supreme of Hijack. Only same name...

  • I've read somewhere it was Kamanchy Sly and Undercover who were behind that song........sort of a revenge towards Surpreme.

  • Pacod, you are correct.

  • the only shit thing about hijack is one of them went on to make that pile of shit garage tune

    do you really like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • seriously, he was in hijack??

    who was it?

  • This is as sick if not sicker than Eric B & Rakims- Know The ledge!!!

  • DOPE,It's going on my LIST OF GOODIE's.GOODLOOKOUT

  • After i´ve seen HiJack live long years ago in the "grosse Freiheit" Hamburg as guest of Ice-T i´ve lost my mind in britcore styles

and it´s still loosen there :)

  • Classic tune,the Dj's were amazing,

  • even mos def or fabolous would have trouble competing with these rhymes

  • these clowns aren't even worth mentioning infront of these legends, for real though!

  • i was there at that concert it was good seeing uk hiphop at its best . i remember tim westwood was there and got chased 4 coming on & playing one tune & pissing off. but still good mem`s of a great hip hop group .

  • I saw Hijack in concert in my home town of Coventry at the Tic Toc club in summer 1992 - they played with Gunshot!! Wicked night!! Shame the main man from Hijack went on to be the front man with Pied Piper & The Master Of Ceremonies!!! w.t.f!!!!!!

  • The best Track from Hijack!!!! Awesome Cuts from Supreme!

  • The best rap tune EVER!!!

  • One of the best rap tunes ever composed.
