"Start with GOD-the first step in learning is bowing down to GOD; only fools thumb their noses at such wisdom and learning. To be afraid of the *Lord is the beginning of wisdom*. If you know the Holy God you will be wise".
I'm beginning to think, that Christopher may very well be one of the most prominent thinkers of our day. Large words indeed. But in me, he surely have made a mark and solidified my own thoughts.
A great put together. I love Hitch to bits and so very sad he is so ill. He currently has a 5% chance of surviving the next 5 years..If anyone can Hitchens can..:)
Nice introduction for the unfamiliar to snapshots of a smart and thoughtful guy. I hope you're able to produce more as there is literally thousands of hours of interviews, talks
and debates involving Mr Hitchens the great majority of which are highly entertaining.
so adam and eve had two sons, one killed the other ,god kicked him out of eden, and so on,then we are tld that he got himself a wife!WHERE THE HELL DID SHE COME FROM??????????????that is all you need to read in the old testement .
A very good speaker who I have a lot of respect for. Though he betrays a lack of understanding of the Christian faith around the 6:30-7:00 mark by a series of statements that are borne of a misunderstanding (or more likely willful ignorance) of what Christ and Christianity taught and believe.
Christopher Hitchens is a man of such integrity and I love the way he isn't afraid to "tell it like it is." We really do need him around much longer to help our culture turn away from phantoms and toward the light of reason. The universe as understood by science, as well as the evolution of life on Earth is a wondrous thing to contemplate and belief in a "god" is not necessary in order to appreciate its beauty and mystery.
That quote at the end is by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, not Christopher Hitchens. It comes from an essay Ayaan contributed to 'The Portable Atheist', a selection of atheist writings compiled by Hitchens. But good vid. We need the Hitch to get well soon.
Soooo few people like him anymore. And now he is gone. RIP Christopher.

@fromwilliams cool story, but ultimately futile as it explains nothing

You ought to check out Stefan Molynuex. His arguments against the existence of god are much more simple and conclusive.

Thanks for the excellent compilation. Judging by your choice of clips, I think that we share concern over a typically poor prognosis :[
