I'm guessing that machinery costs a pretty penny and obviously requires many materials. The car parks we got in US are just fine the way they are, don't need this stuff. But it is cool.
I saw this on tv once, i think every country should do this, it's better for the enviornment, that way we don't tear down forests, etc for more land :D
A lot of the things in Japan that you show are fantastically fun, yet hilariously extremely-dangerous. Your (I'm assuming) pretty true perspectives of live in Japan reminds me of the experimental rollercoaster game for the computer known as RollerCoaster Tycoon -- a game where even some of the most fun or "coolest" rides can be built and are tested by the parkgoers, yet for certain experiments death is so easily immagined when a simple something goes only slightly out of place. he he
Hey everybody! I'm working on doing the same style of videos on life in America as Japanchannel is doing on Japan. I want to show what life is like here for anyone who is curious so please visit my channel and ask questions and make requests and I'll do my very best to show everybody what it's like to live in America!
Awesome. Amazing. By the way, in regard to that narrow building, one of the amazing things about the Japanese is that they have and find ways to get more out of life by the small and simple things. I found that out by watching a documentary about how maximum excellence can be attained with places that have small spaces in Japan.
we need that here in melbourne!!! looking for parking in the city is frantically frustrating not to mention the ridicilously expensive fees...plus your cars keep on being dent, stolen or smashed for no reason all the friggin time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the idea of the vertical car park. The money spent on laying down asphalt and painting lines goes into production of this. They can also reuse scrap metal, melt it down, mix it with other metals rather than purchase new metal. More surface area to build more structures rather than have a HUGE parking lot to plow snow. Nothing is perfect in this world.
wont it take long befor you get your car back once inserted the location of the car .. if its in the top.. hmm hope the have a coffe corner down there,,
you say that it you have staled your car there.. think its a good solution parking garage needs more space. dont want to know what it will cost to build it
my uncle (in japan) has those in his appartment, they're cool but take forever. a bit ironic considering he's a docter so might need to be off for an emergency or something lol
not only in japan. im from germany i belive in germany are also vertical carparks maybe not much, but probably vertical carparks are all over the world. especially the US.
I saw these when i was on vacation in japan. I wish i had a car so i could place my night vision camera in there and record what goes on when the door closes :)
Thanks for the video ^_^

Do they have a weight limit on the vertical car parks?
shropshire21 1 year ago
I haven't had the balls to use one of these because my Japanese isn't good enough. It would totally suck if I couldn't get my car back.
These things are genius though... you can probably fit 100 cars in the same space that 6 would normally fit in a regular parking lot.
And it is a lot cheaper than building a cement parkade.

What happens when there's an earthquake?
Considering the frequent quakes in that country.
...Or they don't worry about it since those buildings are pretty sturdy?
KrayZieAsSPiNoy 2 years ago
Yeah, would not want to be in there in an earthquake!
But buildings built in the last 15 years are usually safe :-)
