I am starting to wonder whether Jake Sisko was essentially Wesley Crusher part 2. Except Jake Sisko worked. Wil Wheaton got tired of his character's button pressing role so he left. Looks like Jake Sisko was another try at the "kid to man" angle.

Jake and Kira should get it on and make little half Bajoran babies. Wouldnt it be some sort of sign to the Bajoran people that the Emissary's grandson is half Bajoran? The new star trek series would be called STAR TREK: LEGACY OF THE EMISSARY.

Too bad they dissed Jake so much in the final two seasons...I mean a whole lot of recurring characters had a lot more to do in those two seasons than Jake.

Btw, I remember seeing Lofton on the cable show "Hoop Life"...And I also heard he was into music, and was possibly going to make a hip-hop album!!!!

There's always been characters that don't get to do as much on each of the series. Jake was a writer. Once the war started it was hard to find things for him to do (as opposed to, say, Nog).

That being said, I think making him a journalist had potential. I think they could have done more with that.

By that logic, how could they show anything after the earlier interview, the DVD collection was put together after the end of the last season. But this was from Season 7. I checked my S6 and its not on it. I don't understand how I saw it before because I don't have Season 7 on DVD and I didn't see it on youtube before this. My bad

idg why people hate wesley over all he wasnt the worst he could of been i mean in some episodes he did fairly well i will admit he wasnt the best charater but he seem more of the roll for other charaters to learn from like picard learning to be more accepting to children specialy children on the bridge and of corse to help picard open up(there are key eps idk the names or numbers but their clips are everywhere) but jake was better but i really liked nog cause of his choise be starfleet
