I got this cable for my wii and I have no issues with it. No black screens at all. Only thing that bothers me is the fact that it doens't work for gamecube games (pls correct me if I'm wrong, because I tried only one game - maybe I can fix that by changing some options??)
Every couple minutes, the screen fades to black for a couple seconds and then reappears again. It's VERY annoying, and I don't know how to fix it. I wonder if this video was longer and the guy played the game a little bit, we'd see the same issue happening.
@DarkDisorder78 I'm gonna live with it though. It's the best I could do right now since I don't see any other options. I'm not sure about the HDMI converters either. I wonder if they have the same problem.

yes it works on my will but whatever i only get a 4,3 ratio format even when setting it to 16.6 ratio format,also it only works with wull games etc,,, and NOT with vc games.

@alizolghadr if you have problems with too much white image, solution is leaving the Green ON RCA cable television or buy a fan with scart input and leave it on the adapter with the ps3 av scart cable
@rameen007 the one I got from Amazon did yes. You needed to set it so 480p in settings using the single component cable they built into it. No black screens for me on my DGM monitor. Some wii games (about 5 or 6) don't support 480p and didn't work, also the majority of wiiware games and gamecube don't work, everything else fine and I played a lot of games

Before that though, I got a "High Box" from ebay for about 40 bucks or so. it was basically a powered component video to VGA converter. It could accept both 480i and 480p which is important. Because a lot of old Gamecube games are 480i, even when played on the Wii, and some of the non-powered component to VGA converters only work with 480p signals, so you get a blank screen with 480i (Like Resident Evil for the GC for instance.)
It is better to get the VD-W3 Wii HDMI Upscaler Processor from vdigi dot com. The VD-W3 enhances the color, makes the pic slightly sharper by upscaling to 480p, 720 i/p, or 1080 i/p. It also changes the vid and sound to HDMI.

I'm using a 24" 1920x1200 resolution monitor with my wii, it actually looks like the exact same model you are using in the demo. I put the wii into edtv/hdtv as shown and then when it goes to my monitor display, the resolution looks absolutely terrible. It is seriously bad quality, with pixelation a real problem. K looked at all the reviews and bought one of these for my ps3. Using a old viewsonic va902b. You must use the green connector on your old tv and change the setting to 480p. Only check 480p for now. (You can probably go higher later. Notice it a bit blurry but not too bad.) Then connect the vga to your lcd monitor. You should get a picture after that. I also notice that the picture flickers once and awhile. Not sure if there is a solution. It could be the frequency on your monitor.

Do you have an Samsung T260? Cause I have one and I have the same VGA cable only my output looks kinda bad. Its quite blurry and does not fill up my screen. I do have it on 480p (before that it would not work).
I'm thinking of purchasing one of these cables. My Sony Bravia doesn't lag when I plug my laptop into it with a VGA cable, but it does lag when I plug in my wii with composite cables. Will this product help with lag?
Can you configure the Wii to output 480p on an old SDTV that doesn't support 480p? I know my TV can't do the progressive scan thing, but I just want to know if the settings will be saved, because I'm going to be using my LCD PC monitor afterall.
P.S. I only have an old cheapo SDTV, lol. The reason I don't have an HDTV is because I don't really watch TV at all and the shows I do watch, I watch them on my PC ;)

@SimcityHunter Hey I think that netbook only has a VGA out, not a VGA IN. It's actually very rare for netbooks or laptops to have a VGA or RCA input

hwy i have Samsung 24' and i use the VGA Cable. and HDTV - Widescreen settings on my Wii, and i managed to get all the borders nicely lined up.
1) picture is not crystal clear and is a little bit blurry
2) graphics in games is poor (Jagged edges in all games)
3) Screen flickers from time to time (go to black screen for 1-2 secs and comes back)
Any idea ?

The PS3/Wii treats the VGA like a component cable so the monitor does not need HDCP support to work.

Can you show how to connect Ps3 too? I have the same cable and SyncMaster 2233SN.

Can you configure the Wii to output 480p on an old SDTV that doesn't support 480p? I know my TV can't do the progressive scan thing, but I just want to know if the settings will be saved, because I'm going to be using my LCD PC monitor afterall.
P.S. I only have an old cheapo SDTV, lol. The reason I don't have an HDTV is because I don't really watch TV at all and the shows I do watch, I watch them on my PC ;)
