Seems to me that the shifts were way too early, the engine had not gotten near it power band. Maybe something about this engine I don't know makes it better at low RPM. High torque low horsepower? It just does not sound right. I have done some racing and do not use a tach except in testing because I have found I did better by ear.

sisasiistisipuli, Hey shit for brains, did you even read my comment. I have done a bit of racing myself & as I said it sounds like he shifts too early. I didn't say it was a 2 stroke. You dumb-ass, not all 4 strokes do better at low rpm. The tone of your comment just shows you're an asshole, not that you know anything about racing or engine performance. My previous post said there may be something about this engine that I am not aware & maybe it does better @ low rpm.

maybe you don't know, that in some cases, if you have 4-stroke engine, and youre going in drag race, you dont need to go all the way through low rpms, and then shift, sometimes you get best power by shifting as fast as your can, if you have 6 geared bike, and you will do this technique, you need get from first gear to fourth gear in about 3 sec, and the last 2 gears will be littlebit slower. MANY 4-STROKE ENGINE NEEDS VERY FAST GEARING FOR BEST POWER AND BEST ACCELERATION.

2 stroke is faster on top, 4-stroke is faster on low rpm, there are some 4-strokes that are fast on high rpm too, but still not enough that they could beat 2 stroke at high rpm, but, 4 and 2 strokes can be against in this kind of "mode": 2stroke:125cc=4stroke:250cc, 2stroke:250cc=4stroke:500cc, like in mx
