  • Moe: I hope all is going well and everyone is doing fine.

From the guy who used to deliver books to you guys at Cannon Books, until you singed your record deal.

    Joe

  • Great song, rich sound, each time I hear this tune I get a burst of energy!...thanks for uploading.

  • You can hear the Todd Rundgren in this one, for sure. GREAT song.

  • @airbagabe You mean the TR-1! haha

  • Great song that brings back great memories. BTW, how many versions are there of this song? There seems to be at least one other, although I like this one much better.

  • "HAVE A NICE DAY!"

  • What's the chick who's singin's name? she is a cutie pie!

  • Great song !! Miss this one.

  • When I hear this song I remember as clear as a bell, my last summer camp up in Muskoka, they would have a dance on the last friday before we would go home and go back to hell....I mean school....and they played this song and I loved it. good times! good tune!

  • My favourite TPOH track!

  • Brill Pop, this...

  • The whole disc is fantastic. Love Junk. Especially poignant is Walking in the Woods. Moe Berg, what a writer!

  • Great Canadian Band

  • A nice ditty...thanks to pandora...remember "I'm an adult now" from ages ago!

  • i just bought this cd today! She's So Young is a very sunshiney sounding song.

  • Great to hear that they're still playing this on the radio. I know I mention 103.7 the river in a lot of my comments, but that's where I first heard pursuit of happiness. I'm from New York and it is always a bummer when I talk to younger Canadian folk and they tell me they've either never heard of these guys or they simply don't care. Music like this makes me wish I was Canadian. I love this band.

  • @MagicTGman I totally agree. Like another post said, these guys and Northern Pikes are 2 of the forgotten Canadian bands.

  • Yes, it seems like Canadian musical groups somehow don't get the rec they need... But Canadians DO excel in films and TV... But, on the other hand, "the Pursuit of Happiness" were quite popular in the US, too... This song and "I'm an Adult Now" were big hits...

  • just heard this song on my local 96.9 jack FM station. Wow, as soon as i heard it i was hooked. Great melody!!

  • Hey Hillary of 88.3 Jam, pls play this one during your saturday

  • very good song

  • This is my all time favourite song off the Love Junk album. I absolutely love The Pursuit Of Happiness!!! Moe Berg is a great singer and an incredibly brilliant songwriter. She's So Young is without a doubt one of their best songs ever recorded and this video is sensational!!!

    The Pursuit Of Happiness rules!!!

    ~Mr. Make Believe

  • ...she doesnt need to question the world like i do...

  • Real gem of a song...are people not making good music anymore?

  • brilliant.

  • everything clicked on this album

  • Moe Berg looks like Martha Plimpton.

  • "You've got to find your own space. Have a nice day" - Moe Berg

Love this song, reminds me of Todd Rundgren at his poppiest.

  • @KeswickPinhead Todd produced this record... good taste you have..

  • @KeswickPinhead - that's because Todd was TPOH's producer

  • high school days!

  • Those glasses?

    So eighties. <3

  • Great song, terrible, terrible video.

  • Excellent slice of pop perfection. And, hey, I'm an adult now.

  • this was 1 great band, wtf happens?????

  • I love you Brits your so much like the canucks

  • I had a friend of mine in highschool who always(still does) had his pulse on the new and fresh stuff and he handed this tape to me one day and i LOVED it....still have it today...20 years later!...

  • ya, 62reasons twas hit then. sfs batch 89'

  • me encanta esa cancion la escuchaba cuando tenia 16 años de edad me trae recuerdos del amor de mi vida

    ecuador cultura

  • Moe Burg is my teacher <3

  • these guys and the northern pikes are two of the greatest but sadly forgotten canadian acts.....

I get bored with music easily but I still have my original CD copy of this album from the early 90's...solid all the way thru.

I think I'll watch beautiful white now....

  • northern pikes are from my hometown of Saskatoon SK

  • my lord the hooks in this song get me every time....and of course w/ rundgren's hand in production it's even more wonderful.

  • This song was huge in Manila, Philippines. DWNU-107.5 FM.

    April-May-June 1989.

  • And I'm guessin huge in the karaoke bars there too lol

  • @okdontnoewattoput If you have listened to this music in 1988 here in Manila, Philippines. Man it was so great...

  • Don't forget 99.5 RT :)

  • Reminds me of my CRAZZZY camping trips !!

  • Saw these guys live in Calgary at The Back Alley night club.....circa 95/96??

It was a great show. It's always more fun when you know every song.

  • loved the pursuit ... and still do. they are amazing.

  • Such a great song! Todd Rundgren's influence is all over this thing...and that's a very good thing!

  • Hey, I was gonna say that! You beat me to it, y' swine : )

Mother of Jesus, I'd forgotten how speccy the lead singer was.

  • spleeeeeeeen2: "First time I heard that chord I went "wooh, didn't expect that chord!"

That, my friend, would be Todd Rundgren's influence. He produced it, and he left his fingerprints all over the first 2 albums.

  • Calling out to Moe...

I still may lead by my heart, always have, always will, but I am no longer 'young' and struggling to find my words... though I still guard them.

I wish for you peace and prosperity.

Thanks for the song... and the smiles over the years.

  • Moe Berg - helluva writer, word and song.

  • This is one of Canadian rock's classic albums. As this video proves, even their mellower songs thoroughly failed to suck.

  • How can I get this song?

  • This song sounds ahead of its times. Almost mid 90s, instead of late 80s.

  • so catchy....so talented. nothing else like it out at that time

  • classic!

  • This is a classic...

  • I remember when they were on MIckey mouse club we have that on tape.!!!

  • Check the subtle minor chord shift on the chorus at 2:55 -- it freaking FORESHADOWS the same change at song's end. Those few seconds really sum up TPOH, right there. CRAFT. ATTENTION TO DETAIL. And it freaking rocks, it swings, it hooks and hooks and hooks some more, on and on. Simply AMAZING...

  • I thought only my brain thought like this. First time I heard that chord I went "wooh, didn't expect that chord!" And then again at the end, I thought the same thing!

  • I never noticed that before.

  • that's more like it. moe rocks

  • i like this song so much beautiful and trully uncompareable.thank you guys....

  • love it !!!!!

  • My Absolutly favorites!!!

I was the first i Sweden that recognised the band:)

    And I Love them forever

  • Great band... great lyrics.... arrangement of this tune is astounding. The interesting guitar work, the lovely backing vocals (delivered by hot Canadian ladies of course!)Thanks.

  • Moe Burg....Brilliant!!

All the best bands came from Canada in the 80's...SAGA, RUSH, TPOH, CHALK CIRCLE, NORTHERN PIKES!!!!

  • OH wow!! what an oldie, but a great tune :-) takes me back to Bowmanville Ontario

  • Heard this great song on BBC London 94.9, Danny Baker's show, forgot what a great song it is and how we Brits love Canadians. It's summer in London and Wimbledon's on. It's beautiful and the song matches. Thanks P of H. Paully x

  • We Canadians love the Brits right back! :)

  • Thanks Paully1969!! You Brits are pretty cool yourselves. And the music out of your country is great. In fact, I will be seeing Oasis in about 6 weeks in Calgary. Can't wait!

  • This song was our favorite during our high school life in Chevalier School, Angeles City way back 1992!!!!

    Thanks for this wonderful music

  • wala ma sepra ni Aaron. Nanimahung gas!

  • NU107 classic! love this song. very melodic and guitar driven.

  • One of the catchiest songs I have ever heard. I can't believe too it's been 20yrs since this came out. It's amazing how fast time flies.

The Pursuit Of Happiness were truly a part of the soundtrack of my life.

  • I agree, this song is extremely catchy and I watch this video over and over and don't get sick of it. The Pursuit of Happiness had some awesome melodies.

  • 80-90s = best years

  • Anyone who has heard this song loves it. A timeless classic. Thank you for posting.

  • Too bad this band a short life. Very promising beginnings. hard to believe that 20 years have passed.

  • The best song Todd Rundgren never wrote.

  • Todd through and through. Funny, I was standing in a bar (The Rivoli) in the early 90's before a POH show, my buddy and I having a beer and he say's 'check out that chick standing at the end of the bar'. It was Moe.

  • i saw them in montreal in 89-what a great show!!!

  • This song never got a lot of air time or credit from the music industry but I think it's terrific. It's a classic love song but somehow has a uniquely Canadian tint. As for the video, it isn't exactly a prizewinner but it's okay. Please keep it posted!

  • This song got airplay (and still gets airplay) on a local station. Sometimes 'CANCON' is a good thing.

  • yes hueseph, the backing vocals are fantastic!

  • Man! Those girls aren't just "back up singers" they're part of the band. Musicians even. Saw them live in the late 80's. Great band and all around nice people. I had a long chat with the drummer before I even realized who he was. Just regular folks. I miss this band.

  • Great canadian band!!! i especially like this song!!! but sadly under-rated.....even in their own country :( ...........Thanks ALOT to post it !!!

  • these guys were great, and produced by todd rundgren!

  • man ilove this song!!!!!!!

  • Really great song! Thanks for uploading the video for it :)

  • Great song from Moe and the band. I had never heard this before.

  • Fantastic, had this on a scratchy old cassette for years. Good to see the video.

    cheers

  • Fan f'n fantastic song... these guys suffered... wny? Because they are Canadian... great tunes... thanks Moe...!!!

  • And, as always... Canadian girls ROCK!!! Luv the backup singers...

  • under-rated song indeed, it's unbelievable that this song did not make it really big in the charts

  • As much as she'd like to believe

She's leading a brand new wave

    That uniform that she wears

I see on the street every day

    She looks heavenward

and struggles to find the right cliche

You've got to find your own space

    Have a nice day

    She's so young

    She's got the answers

  • She doesn't need to question herself like I do She's so young She's got the answers She doesn't need to question the world like I do Like the wisdom of ages Will flow from her tongue This is the delusion of the young She says she'll lead with her heart But her heart really doesn't know at all I'll get no satisfaction Out of seeing her fall
  • The lead singer reminds me of that guy from the old Encyclopedia Brittanica commercials.

  • This could be one of the 80's most under-rated songs. Classic stuff!

  • this is amazing.

  • Nice video, nice band. I think this band was a underated because they were a little before their time. Off to find Cigarette Dangles...Thanks, brings back memories.

  • awesome

  • Very Todd. Love this band. Brilliant.

  • Saw them @ Kahoots in Jax,FL in 89. Drank a few w/ them before the show (boy, was my girlfriend pissed!), then they blew the roof off!!! If Abba and AC/DC had a head-on collision, TPOH would walk away...Totally underrated, fabulous band!!!

  • jellyfish,poh,manics,...virtually hijacked my stereo thru 90s i reckon this song was the lost radio classic..anyone know who the hottie was on B-Vs on aussie tour about 97 ???? Had the perfect chance to speak to moe in melb-just stood and stared and wasted chance.i should post my local tv clips of them..should i????? yes?....

  • Yeah I hear on that. I was standing right beside him in Louis Pub (University of Saskatchewan) while the warm up act was on. I wanted to say something but I didn't wanna seem like some cheese eating high school boy!

  • Hahaha!!!This is what Jonathan Lipnicki of Stuart Little looks like when he grows up.xD ...by the way great song!!!!(",)

  • What great late 80's power pop!

  • This is a great song. I am glad I got see them on tour with Duran Duran in 1989 in Los Angeles at the Univeral Amphitheater.

  • This was the best song on this album. Great harmonies, cool licks.

  • I so love this sooong!

  • So great!! This band was smart & fun. Excellent!

  • good song great band canada rules(im 13)

  • YOU DID IT! Whoa! I looked for this video for sometime now! :)

  • I remember this song was playing quite frequently on Montreal Mix 96! I always liked it!

  • I don't like a lot of Canadian music but this one has always been one of my all-time favorites...even if they are from EDMONTON!!!

  • Back in the day,it seemed that Moe Berg created a look, that everone seemed to copy, i mean with the long hair and the big glasses, every Music store i would walk into between Halifax and Ottawa, all the guys who worked there, were like clones of him too funny.

  • First time I heard TPOH: get ready...I was living in the Philippines. LOVE JUNK, was being played quite heavily over there at the time (1988/89). This song, was huge on DWNU-FM 107.5 MANILA. I think I told Kris Abbott this once, dunno if she remembered, but that's OK. TPOH - nice to see SE Asia had a thing for you guys too....I sure did. Moreso when I got back to Canada in 1989. (SIGH)

  • this was played in the phillipines ? you serious ??????? man - these guys were kind of underground ( sort of ) even in Canada - that's shocking.

  • There were a lot of rock/new wave/punk/post-punk underground stuff that was played in the Philippines (on the very few rock format radio stations, at least).

Some of which my friends out here (in America) have never really even heard of.

  • @MrChiffy Yes, seriously speaking. I even like this song. I didn't know that they were not known in the US. What a shame...

  • great song moe

  • yes ...the literate rock band so good and connected with todd rundgren

  • Hey,,,,!!!! Awesome band and song.... Thanks for posting!!!

  • Wow - thanks!!! I loved these guys when I was in college!

  • A million thanks....my fave TPOH video....finally on YouTube.

  • my fav song ever

  • very simple and very very good! Moe berg where are you mate

  • The genius of Moe Berg + the beauty of Leslie Stanwyck - thanks for posting!!!!

  • Cool! I have fond memories of this song, so this is what they look like! Kinda weird, they look like (except for the vocalist) a glam rock band doing a New Wave song. They even have the Gun's N' Roses like band logo to boot! Haha. I love this song, whatever happened to them? I see another Filipino commented on this, ayuz tol!

  • Do you have "I'm an adult now"? That's my secret rocker song...lol

  • awesome band

  • tumbs up for this song! magaling!

  • ride on! pare

  • Do you have "two girls in one?"

  • OMG - I remember this song from the first summer I moved to Ontario. Aahh... 1989. God love Moe Berg!

  • another "home run out of the park" post! good stuff man!
