All of lexus on the road are toyota in other countries. In jamaica my mom had that car and until we came to the US i never knew it was a Lexus. Same goes for Acura which had honda on them or infiniti which had nissan on them. Same car and much cheaper in other countries than in the US.
That is a Lexus, so to speak. The Lexus GS is, or rather was, a re badged Toyota Aristo (not 100% identical though, like left hand driving and more luxury options on the GS and more engine options available on the Aristo).
Though I'm not sure what kind of strategy they had at the time, they basically sold the GS in the markets where they didn't sell the Aristo and vice versa.
"Toyota researchers visited the U.S. in May 1985 to conduct focus groups and market research on luxury consumers.[6] That summer, several F1 designers rented a home in Laguna Beach, California to observe the lifestyles and tastes of American upper-class consumers. Toyota's market research concluded that a separate brand and sales channel was needed to present its new luxury flagship, and plans were made to develop a new network of dealerships in the U.S and in other markets."
wow your retarded. toyota makes every single Lexus model in japan with a toyota badge on it. the only difference is that the steering wheel is on the right.
