But like 90% of the time they never have any intentions of putting it in to production or taking it past the concept stage.. My guess is that there afraid to change the looks so radically and put it in to production for fear that most people wouldn't buy them..? idk just a thought?

well, i think you got the right idea. the vast majority of americans (and quite possibly the rest of the world) want comfortable, powerful (not necessarily fast) cars. fuel economy might factor in there, but not too often. theyd much rather stick with a classic design than go for something more radical. im assuming thats y a lot of cars are going retro these days. its a lot safer to design a car after one that you know already sold well.

At least when the Japanese broke their way through to the luxury market, they were well equipped vehicles that could actually take on the competition. Hyundai doesn't offer a navigation system and they don't use real wood. Lexus hires Yamaha to install real, top-of-the-line wood in their vehicles, like those used on Yamaha grand pianos. Does Hyundai do that, uh, no. And I do own my own car, I own a Lexus IS 350.
