You are right it is the placebo effect and if that works for a person I guess thats cool. I came on too strong I think with the 'idiot' comment but I have a science backround and hate to see people getting ripped off buying copper or magnetic braclets for example thinking it will cure their ills. @lawnsausages Wouldn't the placebo effect tell you that the body can heal itself in different ways than what we are taught. Nobody really understands the placebo effect. I think magnets can do some things due to the fact that we have iron coursing through our veins. Magnets attract certain metals, like iron, couldn't that help with better circulation of the blood. Better circulation equals more oxygen, more oxygen means it would be harder for viruses and such to cause ongoing problems in the

@lawnsausages they are used in clocks using some kind of vibration to accurately keep time,crystal skulls are made of quartz crystal, egyptians built solid quartz "structures"(dont know what they are called) and they apparently were said they had some kind of "powers", not saying that quartz has any healing powers or whatever, but you should keep an open mind, think about it, magnets are nothing but rocks and they can do something remarkable, whos to say that other rocks cant do anything else

@freshtilldeath78 It's one thing to keep an open mind it's another thing to believe that a quartz crystal has any "healing power" they absolutly do not. In a watch when quartz is properly cut it can be made to vibrate using an electric current; each oscillation causes a voltage change across the crystal which can be detected by an electronic circuit, nothing magical about that. Magnets are amazing I agree but the only "power" they have is that they attract ferromagnetic metals such as iron.

@superdanks77 Well, I have taken 'shrooms (in a pretty supportive, spiritual context, I might add) and while highly enjoyable, it didn't make any perception subjectively "better," "worse," more intrinsically "magical" or more desirable than the other. If evolving into a "higher dimensional being"-however one defines that term-depends on perception of different wavelengths, then house flys are pretty damn evolved! They perceive entirely different spectrums of energy, in ways alien to us.
