Well... considering how the hardcore gamers leghump the earlier games (for good reason), Capcom decided to cater to them and go back in the 8-bit style.

Back then, the games were usually about fun, addictive gameplay rather than cheesy "let's abuse everything about this franchise" graphics.

I guess one reason that one wouldn't like MM Zero is the difficulty level.... it's HARD..... I recently beat the game with an A rank (It's a miracle) which meant no using ANY upgrades and stay with the 16 bars of health and deal with the ultimate moves of some bosses (the 2nd to final one heals one full bar of health in his life gauge.)
